Derwent Gardens

Lovely park, it has 2 sets of swings. We'll lit footpaths along the river bank. Suitable for wheelchairs and prams. Alot of waterfalls and fountains. Lovely in the evening to walk, very peaceful.

Always a great experience at the illuminations. The effort by these people to create their LED boats and imagination is always really impressive.
Crowd was pretty rowdy on a Sunday, plenty of Karen's pushing their way around. Do not recommend children in pushchairs. Karen's try to push them around.

Visited for the illuminations and night time illuminated rowing boats display. Lucky with the weather. Very good and reasonable entry charge. Lots for youngsters to do with small fun fair. Good facilities and disabled access.

Beautiful. Lovely scenery, a nice little walk. Has a great little playground for kids, and nice to walk the doggo if on a lead. We'll looked after too which is nice! There's a car park nearby and toilets aswell which is always handy.

Went down today for the last day and evening of the illuminations, really nice, with old fashion fair ground rides. And fantastic fireworks to finish, we will definitely be going back, and nice fish and chips at Halls Fish an Chips.......

The gardens themselves are beautiful and so worth visiting, there’s a couple of lovely kids playgrounds and they are really peaceful.

We visited for the illuminations though, which I would say are 100% nothing special. It was expensive, and packed to the brim - no social distancing at all. Very underwhelming. More like a badly run fair than a nice illuminations event.

Beautiful gardens a little oasis. Had a walk through the park, and enjoyed seeing the rowing boats once again on the river.
Really enjoyable. The illuminations are lit in the gardens from September. They have models on rowing boats displayed every Saturday in September. In October, from 9th October 2021 every Saturday they have a fireworks event together with the illuminations. Council car parks in September are free from 2pm for parking.
