Coffee was okayish and matcha was slightly on sweeter side. Cake was pretty good, quite rich.
On my first visit to Matcho Cafe which located on the second floor. I decided to try just a single scoop of their matcha ice cream due to feeling quite full. The matcha ice cream had a pleasantly rich and earthy flavor with a subtle bitterness that balanced well with its creamy texture which making it an enjoyable treat. At RM9 per scoop, it was reasonably priced. I might return to explore their other ice creams or perhaps try one of their cakes.
I ordered matcha pink macchiato. The color was good but I'm a bit dissapointed because it was not what I imagined. It was creamy and it overpowering the taste of matcha. For me, matcha latte was better than matcha pink macchiato.
Personally I really love the matcha latte, it's very fragrant and the milk flavour was not overpowering the matcha flavour. The matcha cheesecake is very solid and dense, it's a little sweet for my liking and the matcha flavour was not as strong as I expected. Overall it's quite a good place to get a nice matcha drink.
My second visit but I wanted to try their tiramisu. The tiramisu was, so so. Their matcha cakes is to go for. Their staff is very friendly. I would pay another visit just for their matcha cakes!
I loved everything on their menu so much that I visited twice during my stay in Penang! The dishes are delicious, with great variety and quality, and the service is excellent. I wish they had a branch in Kuala Lumpur so I could enjoy their food more often. Highly recommended!
Visited sometime ago. If you're a matcha lover, this is the place for u. Their drinks & cakes are good. Reasonably priced.
