MacArthur Lake

Can anyone go camping here? Or has anyone camped here? It would be free unlike a campground

It's beautiful. It's one of the many small ponds/lakes in the area. It's mostly a fishing spot.

Nice lake with mediocre boat access. The ramp is dirt and near the dam. There are a few other places on the lake that appear capable of launching a boat from, but I would not risk it as it is easy to get stuck. The lake is a nice size for fishing with a small boat and has a variety of features that should hold bass. We fished in the middle of the fall and the water was still rather warm, probably in the mid 70s, so the bass were not into it. We did get some bluegill, including a 10-inch plus one. We saw a few families bank fishing and they were having good luck with bluegill as well. I think we'll try again later in Nov or Dec when the water cools off a bit more. The fall has been so mild the water is still rather warm and the bass haven't started chowing down yet as they think it's still summer.

Great fishing. A really relaxing place to get away from your stresses.

Had a few bites. Didn't catch any. But will most likely go there again.
