Thank the stars for this theatre company for bringing theatre to the community. Though it is not for profit, to not call them professional theatre would not do them justice.
Fellow performers that I consider friends are people I did as little as one show with in 2018, but this company brought people into my life who’s footprint and memories cannot be overwritten.
Always, always, always support local theatre. This company brings people together to create incredible work born purely of passion (elbow grease is also categorized as passion). Community, it is: amateur, it is not. I’ve never seen a production from AST that hasn’t rivalled that of professional theatre. That’s how palpable the talent curated and cultivated within this company is.
As for being in multiple shows; Vinnie and Gwyneth treat the process with nothing but the most love, care, and humanity. All the performers audition over and over again because they love the atmosphere. They create a family of their volunteers, and not only that; they foster creative growth and are true mentors for those who seek to learn in the craft. I only wish other companies took a page from their book!
