Mt Vernon Gardens

It's a small park with some flowers. It needs some work and is a bit in disrepair. It is a nice place for a simple picnic on the grass or to stretch your legs for a moment. But no amenities or restroom. The traffic is close and very loud. It's not a peaceful place. There was a small trail leading into the woods, but we didn't go on it.

As the other recent reviews say, the garden is a bit of a disappointment. Tree limbs and branches, overgrown grass, dried and cracked earth, trash laying around, and the absence of thriving flowers (except for near the main entrance) leave you feeling that the garden hasn't been regularly maintained. I assume that it is due to lack of interest and funding, but I think it could be a nice place if it was returned to what it once was. It is a shame to see a garden in such disrepair. Four stars only for what it could be.

This place has not been taken care of, trash all over the parking areas, condoms, cans, papers littered the place. The garden itself is overgrown and not maintained from the looks of it, after walking through the entire garden it was honestly surprising some of the flowers looked as good as they did. Paint on the white building at the front of the garden is coping and ill maintained. Pathways are overgrown. The sundial in the center of the garden was missing, wouldn't be surprised if it had been stolen at this point. Had the family with me and with the amount of cars that were arriving and leaving within minutes had me thinking this was the place for some quick drug deals. I wouldn't recommend this place to a single person. It's a shame because this place could have looked very nice back in the day.

Weird activity in the parking lots and blatant open drug use during daylight hours. Other than that, I can tell somebody is making an effort to try and keep the park clean, but people keep dumping trash. It definitely needs some work to be brought back to it's former glory. The pictures from just 6 years ago look like a completely different park. It's a shame they neglected it so long.

This is a little hidden gem. Worth a visit for flower lovers and it has a nice walking area.

Amazing park small but beautiful indeed. Great venue for wedding and photo shoots for any occasion. It has nice history. Worth walking on Stone paths, watching flower beds around, trees path, sundial, serpentine walkway, and a portico to overlook Missouri River but due to forest it can't be seen now. A good place for family picnic.

This garden is breathtakingly beautiful. I go here to relax in a quiet place and look at the flowers. They are always well maintained. It would be a gorgeous place for a wedding.
