A must see in Buenos Aires if you love books.
Awesome place. 100 yr old theater turned bookstore. Pictures don't fo it justice. The only con would be a/c is little to none. Gets warm in there. Coffee shop has great coffee drinks.
That's a perfect place for Readers and music fans
In 2019 this library was selected by National Geographic like the world's most beautiful bookstore. So... What I could say? You must visit dude! If you are visiting Argentina you can't leave it without walking around in this great place
This bookshop is suited in a very old theater building. At the stage it’s possible to drink coffee with a small snack.
It’s also possible to read a book in one of the ‘loges’ but it can by noisy because it’s very popular by tourists. El Ateneo also selling old CD’s and even record’s. It’s nice to spend some time and read a good book with coffee

Chosen by National Geographic as the most beautiful commercial library, this placed used to be a theater where recognized artists from Argentina such as Carlos Gardel performed, offers a big amount of books that are perfectly organized to make them easy to be found, it also has a coffee shop inside and allows people to sit at the couches to read any book they choose
Beautiful bookstore with a very good collection of Spanish books and a cafe. The section of English books is very small and the place very touristic. Not a good place for a bookshop feeling as most visitors come for the architecture and it’s really busy.
