Nice tribute to the people who were killed, injured or lost their families or homes

Creative and beautiful upgrades to this park to memorialize a tragic event in Halifax's history - the Halifax Explosion. At nightime, the Memorial Bell Tower is lit up and stunning!

Our “go to” park with the kids. Love the wooden playground and field. Amazing public restrooms and perfect place for a picnic.

A park with a long history and a peaceful atmosphere, connected to the playground next door for walks and dog walks.

A very educational visit to this lovely peacful park which commemorates those who died in the horrific Halifax harbour explosion of 1917.Two ships,The Mont Blanc and The Imo,both carrying large cargoes of explosive materials collided in the harbour the resultant explosions levelled half the city. It has been recorded as the largest man made explosion ever before the Nuclear Bomb drops in 1945. The area was so devastated that it took around 4 years for new communities to spring up on the affected land.
E.G. The Hydrostone area up behind halifax maintown. The monument houses14 bells which ring out on the hour. The park area has loads of facts and storyboards about the events of that fateful day.

Very peaceful place, always nice to stroll around, good view of the harbour. High up to enjoy sunset and sunrise.

A great place for taking kids out and having some workout on the playground. The lawn is pretty friendly to the fur families. Not much of a trail or hike though. The autumn vibe up from the hill is meditation.

Very nice place to go for a walk, take your dog, or play sports. It has a few access points and a small parking lot. But street parking is also available within couple minutes. The park is in the heart of the city and is surrounded by lots of houses and streets.
