This is a great out-and-back trail in close proximity to Barhaven. The point of interest is of course the Lime Kilt ruins that are quite large and easily accessible from the trail. Dogs are allowed on the trails in spring to fall, but they are not allowed in the winter. This is a great trail with varying terrain and multiple paths branching off into the surrounding forest. A place of 2012 cedar forest fire.

Very nice trail. I walked it in the rain and it was very fun. There are multiple boardwalks, logs and mushrooms and a cool limestone kiln at the end of the trail.

Nice flat trail to walk in all seasons. Lots of birds and chipmunks. Once we saw an Owl as well. There are information boards throughout this trail.

It’s easy hike and connected to the other trails. Parking can be full on a good day but you can always park on the side of the road. There is another entrance from Old Richmond Rd as well.

One of my favourite places to go on a short and medium length hike. I absolutely love the ruins and the birds that will sit on your hand if you have seeds. Seeing the portion of the trail that was ravaged by the fire a couple of years ago is truly impressive and breathtaking. Overall a great, easy place to walk.

This is quite a popular place, even in the winter. Sometimes the parking is full - but you can just park on the street no problem!

Gorgeous trail by Moodie Quarry. The forest fire in 2012 made for an interesting trek through fallen trees and bushes that grew among them. Very low traffic, connected to Jack Pine trail at Moodie Drive. Plenty of wildlife around.

Really beautiful trail, you can honestly walk for a long as you want! The start of the trail from lime kiln parking lot was quite muddy (May 5th) rubber boots would've been great, but there were strategically places logs to walk on. This trail would be ok with a Bob or other big wheeled stroller, not a regular stroller. There's a toilet shack at the entrance, nothing else along the way. The shortest loop would be too long for a toddler to do on their own imo. This trail is likely to be very full of mosquitos soon as many of the swamp areas were FILLED with mosquito larvae (in photos, super cool!) so bring bug spray

One of my favourite trails in this sector. The wildfire site is eerily beautiful, and it's full of interesting things to see - several resident porcupines, birds of prey, and cool mushrooms during the fall. Not to mention the kiln ruins! Only downside is the first part of the trail from the parking lot tends to get very muddy and wet in some seasons.
