They don’t have an answering machine for you to leave a voicemail so good luck calling..and there’s no one to answer emails. The phone call hangs up after being on hold for so long and you have to call again. It’s very frustrating when you just want answers and you just want someone to answer you. To be able to leave a call back number or a voicemail would be nice for people who feel they have no way to get through to someone.

I’ve been trying to reach these ppl yesterday and today. If it said that office works till 4:30, then why has nobody answered the phone! It’s frustrating to sit and wait when you have an important question. I’ve also wrote an email and no one has responded. Unprofessional, very unprofessional

I was helped at this place many years ago, and still remember my experience as blessed. I received exceptional legal assistance and was able to get my immigration status. Olivia J., if you are still working there, thank you so much for all the help you did. You are amazing, and all other people there are awesome

I applied for a work permit and it took a year and 6 months for it to be approved, when they finally issued the work permit they sent it to me with a validity of 2 months, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving it to me, However, it seems like a joke to me, after the work permit arrives, I have to wait 15 days for the social security, who is going to give me a job with a 2-month work permit? What was the use of paying the fee? if when I get the permit it doesn't work for me, this has been disappointing.

To be fair, the staff is super friendly and nice when you meet them. However, that's not what clients go to NJIC for. There is a huge lack in communications between their staff and clients. I mean people go there for critical situations!! And it doesn't seem like NJIC really cares about these situations! At least this is how I felt with my experience.
I met with one of their paralegals to discuss my case, and since then she had reached out to me ONLY once. I tried calling her, over 30 times, and left multiple voicemails to her direct voicemail, and to the general one of NJIC. As a result, I got absolutely no response from nobody. Not to mention, the last time the paralegal spoke to me, she said that she was going to get back to me in one week with updates, well it has been almost 2 months now since we last connected!!
In a nutshell, HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED, AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE DESPERATE BECAUSE THEY WILL LEAVE YOU HANGING.

I would give this place “0” stars if could. I’ve talked to a “lawyer” about my dad who is in ICE custody, the “lawyer” told me that he will “contact him” today but he never did. I even asked him for reassurance and he told me that he will contact my dad. And to mention he sounded uninterested when I talked to him about the case. I really don’t know much about how this place “helps” people who are detained by ICE but I would really appreciate if the “lawyers” would speak up and tell me that they can’t help cuz I can look somewhere else.
