The house has a smell like it been closed for a while only one window air conditioner had to keep doors open or it was to hot in bedrooms

Very mixed feelings about this location - we stayed at Walker Run and as a previous poster wrote - property is run down and in poor condition. Everything was clean and some things were clearly updated, but others looked and smelled like grandma's house had been converted to a rental property. The level of iron in the water makes it undrinkable and smells in the shower, and all the fixtures are rusted and corroded, especially the toilets and the showers. Water pressure in the showers is practically non-existent. The property itself is beautiful and the location is great, but a water softener system, some paint, and major mildew repair on the outside would go a long way. (also fixing the chew holes in the outside screens and maybe replacing the carpets would be great. Also if someone had aired out the property before we got there it would have helped a lot, but that's something that shouldn't have to be done in the first place. All that said, Jill was great and very responsive, and the other locations may be great, but we won't be returning to Walker Run (which we chose because it was the only one with two bathrooms!)

As someone who seldom writes reviews and not much of a complainer I felt I had to be honest with our overall impression of the property. First I will say we have stayed on other properties near the same area for less money in much better condition.
We had rented the Walker Run property for a few days stay. The property is in very much disrepair. I will say the living room area was cozy with a nice fireplace and the kitchen was decent. Bedrooms were clean and decorated. After that not much good to say.
The bathrooms were in very poor condition. Lots of stain in showers and toilets. Fixtures were in poor condition. One shower head was very loose and hard to shower under with very little water pressure. The other shower we could not get the water temperature to adjust. The lack of ground fault protection around water sources was some concern.
The kitchen floor was not very clean and we washed our dishes before we used them after finding some dirty utensils. Also had ants continually on the counter top. The hot tub area and outside porch were dirty. The water smells and taste terrible. A note said that bottled water was available on the porch or in fridge for coffee making but we found none.
The fishing across the road is private property and we drove 3 miles before we were close to the river. Which is beautiful by the way.
We stop and bought charcoal for the grill which turned out to be gas.
Our impression of Shavers Fork Cabins is based solely on this one property. Based on that we will not be returning.

We stayed in the Creekside cabin and it was beautiful. The cabin was clean and neat. Only complaint ( if you can call it that)was not enough was
Water pressure but other than that we would stay again. Jill was amazing to work with. She responded quickly to all emails and phone calls.

Well our vacation has been off to an interesting beginning we had to move cabins bc the one we had in the beginning had black mold.....which the office manager obviously didn't believe us for bc another family is up there now. The place we are at now I have done all the house keeping for. I'm currently washing all the sheets that were not washed....which was all of them. We swept the floor and found dog hair and dog food. The housekeeping staff did nothing to clean this place obviously. Oh and no wifi...so if anyone needs to reach us I'll check back occasionally. Thanks frointer ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ as far as shavers fork cabins go don't waste ur time go somewhere else on vacation.๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ btw there was dirt on the beds...and dog hair, the rug hasn't been shaken out in years since it's making itself one with the floor and the pile alone of dog hair is ridiculous. We also found a cigarette under the bed sheets. Gross

We stayed in the Sisselbloom cabin for the weekend. Great location to relax and enjoy the scenery. Almost everything was perfect about this place, you had a hot tub, two decks one to enjoy outdoor eating, the other to sit in rocking chairs, you have a fire pit with plenty of wood to have a campfire. Fishing was a little rough unless you have waders to go into the river. Really my only complaint would be that they need to update their mattresses on the beds. Other than that it was an enjoyable weekend and I'd stay their again.
