Greek Tavern Doris

We had the best night at Tavern Doris! Lots and lots of delicious vegan options with authentic Greek flavors. There were amazing substitutes for feta and gyros. Thank you for being so accommodating. We will be back!!

Great vegan options, in love with their vegan moussaka.

Just wonderful for our last night in Groningen. Searched for local Greek restaurant and this gem popped up only a short 10 minutes walk away from our hotel. Was a Sunday evening didn't book but had free tables available. Not a massive menu which I personally think is a good thing. We had the feta cheese in honey to start which came with warm pita breads which all hot starters do I believe this dish tasted delicious. My husband had the moussaka and I had the chicken kebabs both tasted great. All the mains came with side Greek salad with feta and chips for the table to share. Really was great quality filling food so couldn't manage dessert. Overall fantastic food, great price small wine at just 4.50 euros, great staff in a lovely setting overlooking one of the many canals.

Octopus was fabulous, I ate such tasty last time at the sea, yet this one you can taste even in such small city. I also had eggplant salad with garlic, which was also good.

Nice atmosphere and beautiful view, the restaurant is right next to a canal. I just waited for a while till the waiter came to my table, but I wasn’t in a hurry, so not that big problem. Regarding the pricing policy, this is not a place for every day as for a student, but sometimes is a decent place. Overall, recommended;)

Great food, kind service. It would have been better if I had gotten my food sooner but I still loved the food. We ordered 2 portions of pikilia, and my main menu was mixed grill groot. Both were soo good. I was happy that I could taste 5 different types of meat in one plate. I really liked the side dishes too. Highly recommended.

Calamari was tender, soft and crispy. 🤤🤤 THE GRILLED OCTOPUS THO! 🐙 very interesting taste of sauce and I was craving these for a while and was not disappointed. 😌🤩🥰 The fries, salads and pita breads are good as well! (Although a little bit out of my budget tho but NL is expected to be expensive, #studentlife) anyways, would very much recommend this place! Very friendly people too. 😃
