NuVegan Cafe

Showed up from out of town due to the great ratings but they're shut down. First off, I had no idea they were inside another businesses so had I some difficulty locating them and had trouble finding a good vegan spot in the first place but so I was super excited to come here but now I find out they no longer exist here! Not sure if they moved to a bigger spot or just got shutdown?! Nothing is posted and no one around their prior knows. I was certainly excited and wanted to make this my new spot considering I travel to Alexandria from 3 hours away every couple of weeks. I'm so disappointed. Please post on your website or comment here if you have moved or there is any other way for me to visit your new location! I will travel!!

The food was bomb. The Mac and cheese is off the chain. And I love the fish and crab cakes. The greens are good as well. So is the sweet potato casserole. Also tried the biscoff muffin and that was fire. I’ll be back again and again

We have been to this location a few times, but today (2/12/24) will likely be the last visit. The food selection is minimal—it says brunch is available online, but the girl at the counter gave me an annoyed look when I asked if it was available. She said no, it’s not been available for a while. I asked if the NuVegan rewards were still available and she said, no sorry.

When I arrived, no one acknowledged me. No apology after I’d been standing there at least 3 minutes with no one else around.

When I ordered, the girl serving me seemed to hate her job. I tried to engage her to be kind, and she mumbled or didn’t even respond to some of my comments/questions. I try to always give the benefit of the doubt to servers, but she really didn’t seem interested in being there or serving.

The reason I’m giving more stars than I could is because the food—minimal selection as it was—was actually quite good. Not super fresh, but flavorful. I hope someone reads this review, but it seems they aren’t being seen or acknowledged. I’m afraid this location will not be around much longer if it continues in this way.

I’ve been twice but both times I’ve been it was not really good. The first time I had chicken and cabbage and the chicken was good but the cabbage was not seasoned good. I went yesterday and was so disappointed I had ribs macaroni and greens. The macaroni was nasty, the ribs were ok I didn’t care for the texture, and the greens were ok.

This is our second time this week going to NuVegan. The food is pretty good my wife is enjoying her jerk chicken over rice. The rice was really hard. I'm enjoying my vegan crab cakes with my two sides. The downside for this evening was that the macaroni and cheese was sold out😮‍💨 But things happen. We'll revisit this place again in the upcoming future.

I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about, but, I had a great experience! I had the chicken sandwich with mac & cheese! BEST VEGAN FOOD i’ve had in SO LONG!! Not a long wait time and the food has SO MUCH flavor. I will def be coming back!!! This is a MUST if you’re vegetarian or vegan!!

I’ve been going to NuVegan for years. The College Park MD location is the best one. The food just tastes bad at the Woodbridge location and the serving sizes are very skimpy at this location for the prices that are being charged. The greens were salty, my garlic kale salty, the Mac and cheese didn’t have much flavor and the wings were dry. Not to mention the staff being rude and just seeming like they hate their job. I guess if I want NuVegan I’ll have to continue to drive an hour to MD for quality food and good customer service.
