California Chicken Wings

Food arrived earlier than estimated and the delivery driver was very friendly! The shrimp steak and cheese was better than I expected, based on the reviews. You can definitely taste old bay or a similar seasoning (a little heavy on the seasoning) and they didn't skimp on the steak. I'll try their wings next.

8/8/24 update: ordered the shrimp steak and cheese sub again as well as whole wings. The sub was so good. The wings were perfect. I got the sauce on the side and didn't even use it.

I was finally able to find a wing place with sweet teriyaki (not salty like in Asian cuisine/restaurants) similar to that of one of my favorite spots back home in Georgia.

The wings are good and sizable but they took away the convenience of being able to order directly from their website and using the 20% coupon that they offered. It still shows up as an offer, but when you try to add your payment method, you just get a blank screen.

I called and asked to place the order over the phone and the guy said he would not honor the discount on THEIR website. The front counter men are usually cool and not usually rude, but I feel like that’s bad professionalism for a small business. He also called me a sir and I’m a woman…

Also of note, I’ve been ordering here for months and they have tater tots on the website but they won’t make them for you because they’re “backordered”. That’s not a problem itself, but how are tater tots unavailable but the French fries aren’t? And similar to the 20% off deal, they refuse to take them off the website.

Just super, super weird and shady behavior. I hate it because now I have to try to find a new wing place and the restaurants in Woodbridge suck and close early.

The atmosphere was ok and that's it. I literally ordered a cheese steak and got charged for a combo that I did not want I took the loss cause I didn't read my receipt and I see the cashier was not going to take accountability. He figured cause the others i was with wanted combos i would too i guess.The cheese steak was tasteless and was like drinking oil I had to through it away. THE FOOD WAS NASTY AND IM UPSET I SPENT ALMOST $50 on this trash. All I smell now is oil

Food was good. Exactly what one would expect out of the items ordered. Prices are a bit high with respect to the amount of food. Cheaper if you order directly.

This is one of the best wing place in the DMV. Large wings, fresh fries, great prices.

Not sure why I’m so picky when it comes to chicken wings and I’m not sure why California is in the name. Never thought of California as a place to be for chicken wings. Nevertheless, I was impressed. Lemon Pepper wings are my favorite and seems to be the most popular. I did try the Thai chili wings and they are definitely on the hot side. CCW offered even hotter levels which is a path i will not venture. The only way you can tell the spice level is to be at the location and view the menu board. Their takeout menu and website doesn’t offer any clues to the spice level (i.e.🌶️🌶️🌶️). Well, some of the names may give a small clue. Whichever flavor you order, make sure you include the lemon pepper wings.

Halal was the reason I chose this location for dinner. The meals were overpriced so I ordered the Crab sticks and 3 whole chicken wings. Lacked presentation. Packaging is Styrofoam and the container melted over the hot chicken. Chicken was undercooked although I asked for well done, it was fried again and that quality is pictured. Overall the chicken was flavorless and dry. I question the quality of ingredients for this restaurant and would never recommend the restaurant nor return.
