Statue of Thomas Hardy the famous author.

Easy missed, awkward to photo

It's a statue of Hardy... depends on what you expect. Faces the road so not easy to get a good look at it.

Good that statue is maintained for everyone to see.

Just a local writers statue at the top of town ( off roundabout). Good position easy access for pedestrians. Very popular. Thomas Hardy is very well known and respected. Should stay in the town itself, not to be moved as talk to move it elsewhere.

He was so silent and I was in a hurry to get home I didn't leave the round a bout at the top of Dorchester Hill

An handsome statue enhanced today by the arrival of his sister Mary! Here for only 2 days but what a beautiful monument to an amazing woman.
