Heard about this restaurant in a while, today just walked in to try. I am not expecting a udon restaurant need a reservation. Lucky we there before the peak time. The Udon soap little bit salty but the pork belly is good. The lady who served us need little bit more easy up. So far, experience is ok, will I back again? I will not. Because this prices will have more choice out there.

One of the best dining experiences I've had in recent times. Definitely on the expensive side, as most dishes will run 30-40 dollars, but the service, the taste, and the portions make it a great place to go for special occasions!

This place was recommended by my cousin. We've had take out before, but this is our first time dining in here.

We ordered the following:
1. kakiage udon and unagi don set (deep fried chopped shrimp, vegetable udon and BBQ eel on rice)

2. chirashi and udon set

3. tori karaage (deep fried chicken)

4. salmon mayo onigiri

5. pear juice (real fruit juice)

It is better to make reservations, as it gets packed very quickly. Friendly staff and quick service. Fresh ingredients, will definitely return.

Beef tongue is best I've ever had. Definitely recommend the beef here and the Udon is very fresh. Some of the best soup I've ever had and the beef is amazing that melts in your mouth. Never had anything like that before. Definitely worth the price for what you're getting and food was very fresh.

I see some low rating reviews comparing the udon here to “instant udon cooked at home by his wife.” Well unless this person’s wife is a professional Japanese chef, I am not quite sure he understood what Japanese food is.

Overall I am happy with the food. The udon is Al denté and got a good chew. The sushi rice is very nice and not too firm. The only thing I would say can use some improvement is the unagi. It’s quite thin and the sauce is not flavourful enough. But overall happy.

I was very excited to try this place based on Zen's reputation. Everything we ordered was great. For the price you are paying though, $25 on average for a bowl of udon, I was expecting it to be exceptional and it just wasn't for me. The service was attentive and friendly as you'd expect from a restaurant of this style.

If you can afford it and don't mind the price, you won't be disappointed. Otherwise, there are many other options in the area for great udon.

The best Udon in Toronto. The Udon are very smooth and springy with the Yummy soups. Eel rice is also fantastic. It is a perfect combination of fresh eel and rice cooked with special eel juice. It is very satisfying to eat in one bite
