Better be in good physical condition to make it to peak of Mt. Seymour. Rocks, rocks & more rocks makes for an ankle twisting experience, so good hiking boots are an absolute requirement. Less well marked trail at Pump Peak & some serious rock scrambling required beyond. Bears were busy feasting on berries in early September, so they showed little interest in people hiking past them. Of all the North Shore trails I've hiked, I met some of the friendliest people on the Mount Seymour Trail... I'm guessing due to more locals on this trail.

Great trail, despite not getting any views at the top of the third peak, and minimal views at the other two because of fog. A bit scrambly in sections but nothing super technical.

Good trail with 360 degree views. Moderate in the first 2/3, more difficult in the last 1/3. Not much flies when we went in late July.

Doing all 3 peaks makes for a difficult day but the panorama views are amazing. Trail is considered difficult but its not bad and well marked. The view from peak 1 is well worth the trip at around 4hs round trip at about 400m gain.

Two hikes are starting from Mount Seymour. Dog mountain and Mt. Seymour.
Dog Mountain hike is a moderate hike with less than 200m elevation gain.
Mount Seymour hike consider a challenging hike. Elevation gain of almost 600m in about 4km. We went on March 2021, a bright and sunny day, but the mountain was full of mostly compact snow and some soft snow. Some areas are extremely steep better be careful. If you are hiking before summer, I would like to highly recommend waterproof hiking shoes or boots, solid crampons, an extra pair of socks, a good winter jacket, waterproof pants and gloves.
Hiking up, crampons will help you in most areas. When you come down, it’s better to slide on some steep areas than walk down.
Views are spectacular on your way up and the top as well. It is one of the best panorama views in British Columbia that I came across. There are many areas you can rest as well. Technically you should have two peaks, but I believe there are three peaks. Overall I would love to recommend Mount Seymour trails highly, and you won’t regret it!

Super nice hike, I’ve been to Seymour summit 3 times this winter, depending on whom, but I think most people can get there in 2 hours. Unless fresh snow, you don’t need snowshoes. Don’t forget to book a FREE PASS online, you’ll have to choose between AM or PM. Depending on what time you’ll get there, the staff will ask for your reservation before reaching any parking.

This is my favorite hiking trail by far! Although an intermediate climb, the paths are doable for small children with the exception of the third peak which would be a bit dangerous for kids under 10 years old.
Why I love it? It has different terrains from gravel at the beginning, bush areas, tall big trees and some places requiring you to use your hands. This is a great workout but not difficult to climb.
The view at the second peak would make most folks more than happy that they hiked there.
If you push on a bit further (15-20) minutes more, you'll reach the third peak which has the best view.
It's breathtaking when we got there. There was alot of fog above the city so it has this mysterious feeling and fantasy scenery (great for photos).
Until the next climb!🐕🐶💓
