I contacted this council via their on line enquiry form in relation to how I can park when my Aunt 's road is permit parking only and she does not have a computer. Also all your car parks are cashless. I logged this on 3 September 2023 with reference ENQ-F- 544113004 and to date I have received no response. I have logged it again this week. I won't hold my breath for a response. Poor show London Borough of Havering Council.
Awful phone system. Impossible to get through to anyone if you can't get an answer to your issue online.
Predators. Appalling administration service and is there any point in appealing anything? I watched an unmarked car with an unmarked traffic warden park behind my car after I stopped on South Drive to drop my kid off for school. This is literally a two minute affair for me to walk my kid into school. Within that time, this person decided to stick a ticket on my car and drive off. Now, please tell me Havering Council, what part of that is "fair"? Where was the grace period? The council have no problem with having unmarked cars, with unmarked "wardens" putting tickets on your car. Mrs Gya, Process & Debt Recovery Officer does not understand circumstances, doesn't understand half of your parking machines don't work properly OR have an app that works (RingGo). I am furious with this council. The area is run down, zero renovation, constant roadworks, heightened crime, hiked prices and more. Anyone who works for this council should be ashamed of themselves. Poor excuse for a representation of the people of this area. Oh and if you choose to appeal your ticket, expect it not to be responded to for over 6 months, then expect your ticket penalty to go up to +£100. Look at your reviews and tell me this is a council people respect. Absolute tripe.
What a joke of a place , paid my fine 65 pound , it states in the letter that if I appeal the notice then it will get put on hold , did it get put on hold ? No it never , you email them , do you get replies? No you get nothing , and then you’re made to blame ? No you can’t be bothered to reply so il look forward in seeing you in court with all my proof , each day I even emailed you URGENT, and reply from you ? No , no care is there
Very useless borought. They issued us a PCN, and despite challenges and providing all the evidence and even writing them a letter, we did not get a reply. Finally, they have issued us an order for recovery and treating us with a court order. We followed all the requests and filled out the forms and letter but did not get any reply. There is no customer service number to talk to a human being at all. The automated phone number is useless.
I am well satisfied with the council and no complaints so far, yes there was a small misunderstanding once and I think they still owe me money for an overpayment at my previous property but I can’t be asked to chase that anymore…let’s see I’ll ask again at some time
I am completely shocked that Havering Council have 1.7 stars out of 5, they should have 1, as I know it's not possible to give a minus number.
This is the worst council ever. They ignore all forms of antisocial behaviour, allow very badly behaved tenants to park anywhere they want without any enforcement, but don't mind issuing a PCN to easy targets if one would park a minute over their parking time limit.
Nearly all the local town centres are full of hooligans and troublesome yobs.
Many councils, especially most outside London have on-street enforcement, and have policies in tackling antisocial behaviour.
There is nobody around to answer a phone, "as everyone is working from home". They don't even respond to emails, no wonder nearly all the decent law abiding people in the borough are so annoyed and upset about their constant neglect.
This entire borough is full of austerity.
I advise any business, especially the large organisations to not relocate of having premises in Havering.
The same goes for anyone looking to buy a property in the borough, avoid it at all costs!
If you want a miserable and stressful way of life, then move here. I can honestly say it will be the worst decision ever made.
This council has literally no ethics or standards whatsoever. They should be investigated by a centralised Trading Standards or the Greater London Authority (GLA) as this is a London borough.
