We went to the rock, gem and mineral show. It was interesting and fun.
It takes place every year in September at the dairy building at the MN state fairgrounds. No entry fee. I would recommend it to anyone who has ever liked collecting rocks. Kids love it!

Another amazing year at the Minnesota State Fair! I had the chance to go twice this year, and it didn’t disappoint. I tried a lot of the new food items—some were definite hits, while others were misses, but that's part of the fun. Even with thousands of people attending, I felt safe the entire time, and the atmosphere was lively as always.
I also bought tickets for the Monday it stormed, and unfortunately, they closed the fair that day. I called the fair office, and they were quick to refund me for my tickets, which was a great customer service experience. Overall, it was another fantastic year at the Great Minnesota Get-Together, and I can’t wait to go again next year!

Have wanted to see the butter sculptor for years ! BUCKET LIST ITEM CHECKED OFF !
This fair was huge - had to go to a few different parking lots to find one we could park in!! to catch the shuttle in
Had a great time seeing all the normal fair things on such a larger scale !
Lots of fun things didn’t know what we were walking into!
Bring your pocket books or your will power 😉

I love this place. Since I moved to Minnesota back in late 2014, I have gone every year ( minus Covid) one year I will do all 12 days of fun, but for now I’ll settle to 2 days. ( I love 2.5ish hours north). The fair grounds are well maintained and I have no issues with anything. There is always a bathroom or a place to fill my water bottle and soooo much history in one spot. I really enjoy the selfie spots, in certain locations for the best back grounds!
I’m a foodie through and through and this place is heaven on earth for me!

Been to the Minnesota State Fair several times. It's the best state fair that we have ever attended (we are from Wisconsin). The grounds give you a hometown feel, the food selection is varied and high quality, and the animal areas are well designed and clean.
Lots of things to like!

Go early to find better parking and avoid crowds. There is free parking at some places and you can take a bus to the fair. There is are so many different foods to try and so many exhibits to see. The food building was overly crowded and food lines can get very long but the food is tasty. There are also animals, lots of amusement park rides and live music for free.

If there were 10 stars, I'd give it 15. I can't say enough good things about the fair. Love, love, LOVE it. I don't even live in Minnesota anymore but I came back for the fair this year because last year was so much fun. The food, the experiences, the exhibits, the people watching, the walking, the food on a stick. It's well organized and clean and amazing. Also spendy, but so good. Go to Minnesota, take a shuttle, and spend your money at the fair. Amazing.
