Free, with a security bag check and metal detector. The guards are so nice and tell you what areas are interesting to see. Worth a visit if you're into architecture. If you go on a rainy day, there's a good chance you'll have the entire place to yourself :)
This was actually a visit for work. The architecture of the building magnificent the building was built in the late eighteen hundreds
It has many butterflies and insects. It is enjoyable for families to go and walk through. It can take up to an hour or more and there are some hands on projects. There is also other animals like turtles,fish,and baby alligators.
I think they have a butterfly problem. It is an awesome insectarium and butterfly garden, well worth the time while you are in New Orleans. Just be prepared to do the metal detector and the emptying of your pockets, it is in a federal building.
This historical landmark is also the location of the audubon insecterium and butterfly garden. Great for kids and adults alike. See the animals so easily overlooked and learn things you may have never known. Walk on top of scorpions with the glass floor in closure and enjoy butterflies of all sorts of sizes and colors.
This place is a must see, especially with the kiddos; we were on a date. It's part of the City Pass deal for New Orleans and walking distance from most anywhere downtown, especially close to Harrah's and the Aquarium. The building itself is rich with history and it's interesting to ask why there are armed guards and a metal detector in an Insectorium.
This was really neat. Only go if you like bugs though of course.
