This is an impressive statue of an important American.
Nice park and great photo opp of a founding father
One of the best areas in the city for a picnic or even just an outdoor nap in the summer. Unfortunately too many people have off leash dogs here. But other than that, it's heaven in summer. Bring your picnic blanket and basket and stay for hours, with all the other gorgeous sunning humans that cover this entire field on sunny days.
Founding father and inventor
This is a statue of American Founding Father Ben Franklin (1706-1790) located just north of W La Salle Drive. It is the work of sculptor Richard Henry Park and depicts Franklin standing with colonial era attire. He stands upon a white granite pedestal with his name and faces the open grassy area of the park.
What is there to say.. it’s Ben Franklin! Lol. The area around it looks nice and it's a great welcoming site before you enter Lincoln Park.

It's a monument to a dead white dude. What are you expecting? It's fine. The park is great.
