We held our party there. Really great premises but can't say the same for hospitality. Don't try having your party there during their bowls time, the members are obnoxious. We booked in for barefoot bowls and used the green that was available away from their playing greens. We accommodated parking requests. Hell even offered members the catered food we bought in and set up. When caterers asked to quickly heat up 2 trays of party food and make gravy, of which we were told prior to booking would be OK , or to use a shelf in the fridge to store a dozen small cup desserts, they were met with a No from the club. Even though their kitchen wasn't being used on the day. My caterers spared me those details as not to upset me that day. They actually sent one of their team home 15mins away to warm it up and make gravy.
Our party grp bought drinks from their bar as it was strictly no BYO, we were happy to oblige but the absolute indiffence to our support of their club really left me with a terrible overview of this club. It's ashame as the day I went in to inspect the premises before booking, 2 older gents were really lovely, albeit they didn't have any info and directed me to call a number posted on the wall. Its actually a good place for functions but the intolerable attitudes of their members and their unhelpfulness, I wouldn't use them ever again.
The barefoot bowls is charged per person for those attending the party even if you're not playing . Looking back its overpriced for the 3 hours we were on site esp since we we had no use of the club facilities and many of our invites mentioned they felt awkward using the club toilets with the stares they received. The Barefoot bowls operators are separate from the club so perhaps that's where the misunderstanding is . Either way I won't be recommending this bowls club for anything.
