Colombo City Hotels

My experience at this hotel was incredibly disappointing. At the start of my Sri Lanka trip, I asked the hotel to store my winter clothes, which they accepted and provided a receipt for. However, when I returned at the end of my trip to retrieve my bags, I was shocked to find that they were empty. Over $1000 worth of my clothes had gone missing, and the hotel refused to take any responsibility for the loss. This situation left me extremely frustrated and upset. I would not recommend staying here due to the lack of accountability and poor customer service.

Stayed for 2 nights as arrived in Colombo at 2am and began our 2 week Sri Lanka travels here. It has to be the worst place I have ever stayed. The first night the room we stayed in smelt horribly of mould, had visible black mould on the curtains, and was not clean. There was the biggest spider web I have ever seen clearly visible on top of the wardrobe. After going to sleep at around 4am we were woken up at 7am by a speaker in the room playing the radio very loudly (there is a switch to disable this alarm but we were not told about this upon checking in). After going back to sleep we were woken repeatedly by doors slamming and the sound of music (ed Sheeran specifically) playing from somewhere. I would also like to add that the room had a window - to the corridor. On the second day we asked to change rooms. They obliged and moved us to a higher up room which did not smell of damp but was much smaller. Fine. Again, was not clean. There was smudged lipstick smeared down the sink and soap marks on the shower curtain. Honestly wouldn’t stay here again if it were free. On a positive note, the hairdryer was great and they have free water dispensers in the corridors.

Location is really a good one. World Trade Center and BoC tower is fingerprints away. Service is really good. Meal are tasty and best in the area for the value. Rooms are bit older and, it's kinda require re furnishings. Overall, best value for what you paid for.

Best place stay in colombo middle. Fresh and clean room with good service. Hotel is closed to fort, galle face and other major locations.Room charges were reasonable. There is a good rooftop restaurant.

We dined at the rooftop restaurant which offered the most affordable prices compared to other places. The view was stunning and the service surpassed our expectations. There was fantastic live music until midnight, and the band graciously played the songs we requested. Unlike many other spots, this place wasn't overly crowded. It's an ideal spot if you're seeking a great hangout with your friends.

We arrived at the Hotel at 2am. Friendly guy on reception booked our group of 16 in. Got to our room, opened the door and a horrible musty, stale smell hit you. The room was clean, very very basic. A bed with one cotton top sheet & 2 pillows. Jug & 2 cups, coffee & 2 tea bags, 2 bottles of water. The bathroom is very dated and although probably clean it didn't look so?
Breakfast was ok, the chef will cook you an omelette or fried eggs.
The staff were friendly enough but 8 hours here was really more than enough.
