Nice Church and Chapel, but it was a sad occasion. Funeral for my college roommate.

Always enjoy mass at OLS. Monseñor Barrera, Fr. Joe, Fr. Sam and Fr. Koday are great priests. We really enjoy Mnsr. Barrera's homilies.

I visited the office here today after speaking with a woman in the neighborhood who was looking for help. She was walking door-to-door in 100 degree heat offering to clean yards, vehicles, or anything for some help for her and her family.

When I asked her if she had reached out to any local community organizations, she said she had reached out to OLS, however they told her that they only help folks within their "region". After speaking with the OLS office in person, I was told the region is only from 23rd to Nolana and that they "could not help everyone who comes in here". I was also told that "sometimes people have really good stories". I was a bit surprised by this initial judgemental comment.

I don't believe this exclusive, judgemental practice is appropriate nor is it aligned with Christian beliefs. Jesus Christ himself was a traveler who received help from outside his "region" and gave help to all in need.

I grew up a few blocks down the road from OLS and went to Sunday school here, however I am no longer Catholic. I couldn't be more content with that decision today than I ever have been.

I don't expect OLS to give out free money, however I'm sure they could've offered her a ride to somewhere that could've helped or maybe even offer her payment to help clean their huge, beautiful church or its grounds.

I thought this parish was great for the community, but it turns out that it just hides issues happening at the school. They allow bully on campus with ZERO consequences. What a shame to have this parish hide such issues that need to be brought to light in a review.

I’ve been a parishioner at OLS for 30 years and I can honestly say it feels like my family away from home, I’m honored to serve in many ministries and love my parish community, Our Lady of Sorrows Pray for us

We have been attending mass for 3 years here and when I was a kid my parents came to this parish. I recently had the privilege of working with Patsy Vela, Fr. Joe & Danny Ortegon for preparations for my wedding. I love them all for being so kind, helpful & easy going.
