Had a good time at the State House on yesterday. Received a tour around some parts of the building. I will tell you to wear good shoes. I got my exercise in yesterday!! There are soo many stairs to climb. My legs are screaming today. Great experience if you get a chance to stop by.

My first time visiting and I enjoyed walking the grounds of the SC State House. The staff on-site were very friendly and informative. I wish I could of stayed to explore more, but it was a hot day.. and my children were not very thrilled to be walking around in the heat. We will be back though once the weather cools down a bit.

Visited the South Carolina State House this morning, the entrance at the left of the building, went through the security checkpoint, self guided around inside and outside of the building. Good to know some African and American history…must visit when you are in Columbia SC.

Absolutely amazing to see the architectural beauty this building has to offer. Off street parking and easy to walk around the property to explore the area. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit.

We recently toured the Columbia South Carolina State House. Starting at the African American monument just outside its walls.

The African American monument is a point of reflection for the long struggle over decades of oppression for blacks seeking basic human rights and freedoms for all African people.

The SC State house is beautiful inside and it’s a must see. I was very surprised to see a picture of Mary McCloud Bethune on the wall as you walk up the grand stair case. This was amazing to see and it made me feel a little bit better about the plight of those who are still struggling to survive and be heard. The state house is beautiful and the intricate detail on the walls and ceiling speak volumes about the people who built the state house. It’s a must see for historical buildings.

Beautiful state house - arrived too late to get to see the inside on this trip although I’ve been in previously. Can spend a solid hour looking at the various monuments and beautiful landscaping surrounding the building. Kids loved running up and down the steps.

The state house is open for the public. You can enter from the left side of the building just go through the security check. There is guided tour or you can just go around with the pamphlet. The three storey building is a magnificent piece of art. Kids were super excited to see the inside and got to take lots of pictures too. Definitely worth visiting if you are around the area.
