Great view of the water. Decent playground. The trails were scattered, and pretty narrow. Not great for getting any distance covered by walking, but good to look around.

Nice and quiet place to visit..especially if you enjoy historical areas
Large playground with plenty of benches and picnic tables around
Has 2 horseshoe pits (without stakes/shoes)
Nice views of the waterways
Plenty of shade trees around
Has a kayak/canoe launch/dock
Please do not disturb the family cemetery located on the grounds but stop and pay respects while enjoying your day

What a lovely last stop before the hustle of Norfolk if you’re northbound. We really appreciated the power hookup and the nice park too. Thank you.

Had a great time fishing. This time we caught catfish and bowfin, on previous trips we've also caught fresh water eel and trout. Can't wait for the next trip out there!

We went there for my birthday party and it was beautiful there
This is a pretty nice mid sized park. It's not too busy and there's a parking lot. There's a children's playground, two viewing towers, a little bridge, a couple benches and shelters, a wee little cemetery, and a dock. There were people kayaking or canoeing when I went and it sounded like they were having a good time. I would say that the trail is not really a trail but a line that kind of doesn't lead anywhere. Overall worth a visit if you live in Hampton Roads.

Beautiful, coming in by boat, just past the locks, on the southern side is a small dock with power, free for 24 hours. The park is nice. It's within walking distance of a food lion, 7-11, advance auto, a citco if you need fuel and have wheels. We charges our batteries and made a bunch of fuel runs after doing some shopping and some boatwork. A great stop.

Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Was able to see the locks open to allow passing boats to continue navigating the canal. Saw a bald eagle flying by and tons of geese. Great park.
