Garratt Road Bridge

It's a bridge.
Surprisingly the lawn area underneath is peaceful for picnics

Clean and pretty

Sometimes the mosquitos are bad the fish are not too bad to catch and not too many snags . nice open area to have a feed public toilets the little lake in the area is not the most ideal is a kid attraction to wonder off too

Perfect little spot for the family bbq, swim,fishing, little swings, close toilet facilities & great sunsets #perfect

Bridge functions as it was designed for. Visit if you want to see lots of cars passing by.

The active transport paths (multi use path) just wide enough for a wheelchair and a pedestrian. Only wide enough for 2 skilled people on bikes to pass in opposite directions without 1 of them having to get off and walk past each other.

Except in suburban cul de sacs; having to pull over and wait for other cars, buses, or trucks to pass on major metropolitan arterial roads would be totally unacceptable. So why is it acceptable for active transport roadways?

It's a bridge. Takes cars and foot traffic from one side of the river to the other. There are prettier bridges but this one does a fine job.
