Unfortunately the service let the experience down. The staff were nice but it just took ages to get anything to eat. It was about an hour after we ordered.
That said the food was good - hearty and tasty. We got the mixed vegetarian player which was plenty and the variety was nice.
Despite the wait I’ll probably go back and try some other bits from the menu.

The flavors were exactly as I remembered from Ethiopia. We chose this restaurant among the other ones in London because of the location and the variety of choices on their menu. The vegetarian food was amazing and I'd recommend it to non-vegetarians (there were 5 of us, 2 non-vegetarians).
Everyone was lovely and the manager/owner kept checking up on us (without being annoying). The food came out relatively quickly and when there was a misunderstanding about a specific dish which had a meat and vegetarian version, they changed it for us as soon as we told them the problem.

I recently dined at Wolkite Restaurant and it was an exceptional experience. The manager was incredibly warm and welcoming. The customer service was outstanding with attentive and knowledgeable staff overall making the atmosphere great.
The food was absolutely delicious, I had the Goden Tibs and Special Kitfo both tasted amazingly - 10/10.
I highly recommend Wolkite for its tasty Ethiopian Cuisine and its fantastic service. I will definitely be returning!!

Very friendly host.
Authentic Ethiopian food.
We had tried veg and non veg platters along with Lamb short ribs. All were tasting at home. Home away from Ethiopia.

Ordered the Mahberawi for 2 and the portions were huge! The food tasted amazing and I'd definitely recommend ordering the set menu. Yeshak was very friendly and welcoming to us. This is a nice, cozy restaurant that's tucked away in a quiet residential setting. 100% recommended, especially if you're a fan of Ethiopian Jazz music!

Wolkite Restaurant was a delightful experience. From the warm welcome to the delicious Ethiopian cuisine, every moment was exceptional. The attention to detail and outstanding service truly impressed me. I can't wait to return to Wolkite for another memorable meal. It has become a new favorite for me!

If you’re looking for a bit of an adventure, this is a great idea.
We took the special kitfo (minced meat with collard greens and cottage cheese with herbs) and the chicken (doro awaze tibs) with onions and tomatoes.
Everything is served on top of injera, a sort of sourdough pancake. You eat with your hands and it’s really meant for sharing. It’s simple food, but very tasty.
We tried their house made honey wine: also super interesting.
Definitely some of the most unique cuisine you’ll find in London!
