Chose this place for the “clean eats” and espresso martini happy hour and it exceeded all expectations! Our family of 4 (2 and 5yo) were seated on the rooftop per our request on a lovely end of summer evening in late August. Our server was phenomenal giving our almost 6yo recommendations on what to eat and never making us feel out of place with young children during happy hour. We ordered the hummus starter, the soba noodle bowl and steak with a side of sweet potato fries. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! We decided on the campfire smores as an end of vacation treat and we had a lot of fun making our delicious desert (complete with house made dark chocolate for melting :))

"Clean Eating, Dirty Drinking" Adore this menu, wide range of health foods with easy vegan substitutes listed on menu. Mocktails and healthy cold pressed juices available. I had the peanut bowl and turmeric juice, both were so refreshing on a hot sunny day on the patio. Service was lovely. Patio very clean and inviting. Fun soundtrack, love the deep house covers playlist.

I had the opportunity to dine at District Restaurant and Bar, nestled in the lively entertainment district on King Street. Eager to try their wagyu burger with sweet potato fries, I found the experience to be a mix of highs and lows. The wagyu burger, touted for its premium quality, unfortunately fell short as it turned out quite dry. This was disappointing given the expectation of juiciness and tenderness typically associated with wagyu beef. On the flip side, the sweet potato fries were a delight, perfectly seasoned and crisp.
The atmosphere at District Restaurant and Bar is undeniably vibrant, making it an ideal spot for a night out with friends or colleagues. The restaurant's location adds to its charm, surrounded by theaters and bars, creating a bustling environment that enhances the overall dining experience.
During my visit, we took advantage of happy hour and were pleased with the variety and quality of drinks available. The cocktail menu was creative, offering a good mix of classic and innovative concoctions. However, while the drinks were enjoyable, the service was a bit hit-and-miss. While the staff was friendly and polite, there were noticeable lapses in attentiveness during peak hours, which affected the overall dining experience.
Despite these drawbacks, District Restaurant and Bar remains a decent choice for those looking for a casual dining experience in a lively setting. With some improvements in food consistency and service efficiency, it has the potential to be a standout in the area. Whether you're looking to unwind after work or catch up with friends before a night out, District Restaurant and Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere and a varied menu that caters to different tastes and preferences.
Overall, while there were aspects that could be improved upon, District Restaurant and Bar provides a pleasant dining experience in the heart of the city's entertainment hub.

I rarely give 1-star reviews, but when I do, it's because a restaurant exhibits very poor service, takes shortcuts, or employs bad/deceptive sales tactics. Unfortunately, District ticked all these boxes for me, making it a place I won't revisit.
While walking downtown, I noticed a happy hour sign advertising an $8.50 espresso martini, which initially drew me in. Upon entering, I found the rooftop patio cozy and charming with a warm atmosphere, seeming promising at first.
However, our server lacked energy and enthusiasm, which significantly impacted our dining experience. Despite requesting napkins twice, they were slow to provide them. We ordered drinks and decided on the hummus flight and Jerk chicken wings.
To our disappointment, no plates, forks, or cutlery were brought to us. The Jerk chicken wings were overly salty with an off seasoning, and disappointingly small for the price. The hummus flight, advertised as including beet hummus, was missing this component and substituted with a mere garnish of arugula, despite us paying $14 during happy hour. This kind of bait-and-switch felt deceptive and like a poor business practice.
Halfway through our meal, we still had no plates or cutlery until we requested them from the hostess. The overall lack of service and mediocre quality of the food made what could have been a great hangout spot into a very disappointing dining experience.
Based on below-standard service, mediocre food quality, and an overall poor dining experience, I cannot recommend District to others.

Nice patio with great food options and service! Note that brunch has limited options compared to later in the day.
The service was amazing. The staff went out to their way to make sure we had a good experience.

Really good food but waitress could have been more attentive. We sat outside on a hot day for 20 minutes waiting for our drinks and were not even brought or offered water, meanwhile all of the other tables were being served besides us.

This was a fun spot to go to for happy hour after a busy work day! We didn't realize there was a patio upstairs but that was the perfect vibe - it was very nicely shaded, which was ideal given how surprisingly hot and sunny it was today.
Great deal on drinks - I only got wine this time, but I'll definitely be back to try the espresso martinis. For food, we got the Tres Amigos Dip, Sanka's Jerk Chicken and Hot Bao Chicken. The Tres Amigos and Jerk Chicken were a part of the happy hour menu and YUM! We LOVED the mayan pumpkin seed dip and there was a nice kick to the jerk chicken! The Bao was from the regular menu, and it had a lot of filling which was exactly what you'd hope for.
Our server was very attentive, which we appreciated. Will definitely be back for the good deals!
