A great day trip and walk. And beautiful structure with a rich history.

Great place to visit for walks and biking. Dog friendly. Views was beautiful. Small cafe and toilets at car park

Access to the carpark was a little tight for our motorhome as well as having to avoid the ducks. Steps up to the dam are irregular, some are steep and there's quite a few of them, a seat would be useful part way up. The dam is very impressive but has no access to it.

Visiting first dam in England.
Best place for cycling and trekking. Suitable place for one day trip with kids.
Payable parking space is available.
Cycle shop to hire and cafeteria.

Nice and easy walk along the water reservoir. No need for any special hiking shoes as there is pavement all along.

Visited today, well worth the visit. Plenty of water flowing over the dam as it's been pretty much none stop rain.
I assume they must be refurbishing the toilets as they were out of action, portable ones outside instead now but they were absolutely shocking... It would take a brave or desperate person to use them.
Parking is paid, but spaces are somewhat limited.

Beautiful location. Very easy walk and a great option to extend the hike. It’s a breathtaking view and a wonder to see where all our water comes from!

Limited parking (which is chargeable) , nice little shop and cafe , but really the views around the upper derwent valley are spectacular, which is what you come for. Walking along the reservoir side is relatively flat and an easy walk. I went midweek and it was relatively quite. A must see place.
