Museum of Ancient Greek Technology by Kotsanas

This museum is fantastic. Inexpensive, but doesn’t feel it. The two women that were working there today gave detailed explanations and demonstrations several times, and allowed for some interaction with a few displays as well.

Every example of a piece of technology developed by the Ancient Greeks has a recreation of the piece of technology, as well as a video playing, showing you exactly how it was used.

It’d also in a great, walkable area, with a ton of nearby restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend stopping here!

Such a great museum and great for all groups of all ages! We really loved that there were videos of the inventions in action to really help visitors visualise how each item worked. The museum staff were great and offered to show us a few of the exhibits in action. The set of the museum is thoughtful, easy to follow, educational and interesting, but without being overwhelming. You could really make it your own experience spending as long as you want here. There's also a great little cafe upstairs with some of the ancient games on the tables to play with while you relax. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting the area!!

A must see musuem with interactive exhibits, especially if you have a technical background you gonna really enjoy it! The staff was also very friendly and enthusiastic! if you prefer a guided tour you need to arrange it in advance

Very interesting museum with short interactive presentations and reconstructed ancient exhibits. And it’s cool! I didn’t realize how technically advanced the Greek civilization was. What if this knowledge survived and the Alexandria library wasn’t burned?

Small museum in city centre of Heraklion. There we could see a lot of what we were learning at school about. If you're interested in technology and science, don't miss this place. You don't even know, how many inventions ancient Greeks made!
The staff was so friendly and kind! They explained how the machines work, we also could try.
