It's good to visit the museum after going to the archaeological sites though I found it hard to keep track of the different eras at times. It's 12€ in summer and the café and terrace are pleasant. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and although it was busy there were no queues.
A museum you need to visit. Very interesting and some top pieces in their collection. Also nice that students don't pay anything if they are from the EU ( in all museums in Athens) A little bit party Thatcher the walk direction through the different spaces isn't clear.
