The Baptist church lacked warmth and inclusivity. The atmosphere felt judgmental and unwelcoming, with little effort made to engage newcomers or foster a sense of community. Services were rigid and uninspiring, leaving attendees feeling disconnected rather than spiritually uplifted.

Too woke for my taste. Stained glass had Rottenkid and freemasonic "eye" symbols.

NYCO (North York Concert Orchestra) performed Saint-Saens "Organ" Symphony, Guilmant Organ Concerto and Debussy L'apres midi de la faune here. Yorkminster Park Baptist Church is huge and the to organ is well suited to the space. Before the soundcheck, we had a guided tour of the organ chamber. It was impressive. Small wonder that the organ wouldn't be drowned out by the orchestra, not with 6,000 pipes available to be played. It was a wonderful experience and I am sure the audience was thrilled.

Terrible experience! An embarrassment to the the name of Jesus and what He died for. To think I had brought a Muslim friend with me who would have been attending a church service for the 1st time and we had this experience!
What my friend said after the experience: "churches are like that... they're just good to look at". What a testimony Yorkminister Park Baptist Church. What a gospel to share!
Our experience:
I had just dropped off my luggage at the air bnb and decided to go to church. I am just visiting Toronto. I checked for the closest church that was open and saw this was open from 11am to 2pm. Just after 12 pm, we took the 4 minutes walk down to the church. The 1st bad sign was that all the doors were locked. We walked around and had to l asked people sitting about how to access the property. This took at least 5 minutes. We were told to knock on one of the doors and someone will open - awesome practice of Matthew 7:7 guys!
My friend was the one who knocked. This guy in his suit and tie opened the door and the 1st thing he says: "service is over". He repeated this about 3 times. No hello, no welcome, no how can we help you. Just "service is over". I responded by telling him that online, it says their service is from 11am to 2pm (at the entrance to the church, even the electronic info board also said the same thing). His reponse was something along the line of... "I don't know. The church is closing now. We're just singing the final hymn, people will begin coming out soon".
What if we just wanted to pray or have a quiet time with God mister?
This was really an embarrassment to the name of Christ. You guys shouldn't do better. Jesus would not be proud.

What an inspiring space! Vast inside. Beautiful heights; simple and graceful architecture. Acoustics are heavenly for choirs.

I went to this church for the first time for the 2023 Lester Randall Preaching Fellowship so it wasn't for a regular service. Nevertheless, the church was very welcoming and a couple of ladies who didn't even know my name invited me to the Tim Hortons close by.
Although the church looks intimidating from the outside, the people are friendly.

Came to hear a talk at this church as part of their Speakers Series - an excellent and entertaining evening.
A warm and friendly group of people ran the event, and I was made to feel very welcome. The talk was held in a hall with excellent sound and large display screen. The building is accessible for those with mobility issues.

The incessant chiming of the bells was nothing short of a nightmare. I can appreciate the tradition and significance of bell chiming, especially in a church setting, but this particular establishment seemed to have taken it to an extreme. It's one thing to play the bells every hour, as is customary in many churches, but this place went far beyond that.
For hours on end, the bells continued to ring, disrupting any semblance of peace and tranquility in the area. It was not only irritating but, dare I say, incredibly rude. I found myself wondering whether the church was aware of the impact their excessive bell chiming was having on the surrounding community.
Even as I write this message the bells have been going for 30 minutes.
