Great for the kids, only issue is not handicap friendly well at least I didn’t see ramps. Has a little of everything for everyone. Beautiful view of the James River. The suspension bridge was a site and nice to walk on.

Another very cool area to hike but not accessible to many. I enjoy and recognize that I have privilege to enjoy such a unique trail. Bring a friend to feel extra safe - there is some houseless along this trail and if you venture far you will wonder into a camp, which just be respectful either turn back or go through.

This is a place only locals know about. It's a perfect place to get away from the crowd. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of trash after the 4th of July. Please remember to pick up after yourself to keep our parks clean!

Cool narrow walkway extending out James River. Close to murals. Ladder to get down to path. Some homeless and other shady people, but still pretty neat!

The James River Park Pipeline Walkway is a fantastic destination for a scenic and enjoyable outing. Walking along the elevated pathway offers stunning views of the river and surrounding natural beauty. We had a great time exploring the area and appreciated the unique perspective it provided. While there were a few areas that could use some maintenance, overall, it was a memorable experience. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful and scenic walk.

The entrance is wooden stairs located on the river side of the flood wall. Access thru the flood wall is thru two steel doors in the wall located about halfway down the parking area.

Go thru the steel doors, turn left and walk about 300 ft and you'll see the wooden stairs to begin the pipeline trail.

Once down the stairs you'll find a short 6 rung ladder that descends to the trail.

The trail is along the river and has a small beach area where I saw approx 20 people lounging.

After the beach the trail changes and the railings stop but the trail continues further, eventually returning to land. At that point the trail becomes a foot path along the river

Very cool! Entrance is hard to find. The walkway is narrow. Be careful. It runs all the way to the water. You will probably walk for 0.3-0.5 miles long.
