Believed to be the world's only triple-level train crossing, this trestle marked the junction of the Chesapeake and Ohio, the Seaboard Air Line, and the Southern railroads. The photo of 1926 of these mighty steam locomotives was taken from the south, a view now impossible to duplicate due to the placement of the 1990s floodwall.
It is beautiful, but also I found out it is a restricted area, if you are getting a photo of the bridges, best to get a photo from the walking path across the way.
Pulled in saw signs for authorized access only and backed up until I could turn around.

Thought this was cool. It was like a progression in transportation over time. From the canal, to rail, to superhighways.

It’s a nice spot but the flood wall has made those camera angles from the 20th century hard to get.

Excellent spot to watch trains as well as other things. A bit difficult to get a good angle of the spot since sadly much of it is NS property or blocked by the Floodwall. Still worth the visit!

Excellent spot to watch trains and experience downtown Richmond's rail fan scene. Historic buildings and rail junction. Recommended.
