The Loaded Spoon

My husband and I recently visited The Loaded Spoon in Freehold, NJ, to celebrate our anniversary. Overall, the experience was just okay, with some highlights and a few disappointments.

We were seated in the indoor "garden," which is beautifully decorated but unfortunately overlooks one of the mall entrances. Depending on the time of day, the noise level can be a bit distracting, which took away from the ambiance we were hoping for.

The service, however, was excellent. Our server was very attentive, frequently checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. We started with drinks, which were both pretty and tasty. I had the To Kill a Rose, a refreshing blend of casamigos blanco, aperol, rose water, strawberry, and fresh lemon, while my husband enjoyed the Love & Passion, a peachy cocktail with a nice float of champagne.

For appetizers, we ordered the Ahi Tuna Sashimi and Chili Lime Chicken Skewers. The tuna was accompanied by a delicious mango black bean salsa, which I enjoyed, but the chicken skewers lacked the distinct chili lime flavor I was expecting.

For our main courses, we chose the Braised Bone-In Short Rib and the Pan Seared Grouper Filet. The short rib was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was overpowering and didn't quite hit the mark for me. The grouper was fine, but overall, the food just didn't stand out.

While the ambiance and service were nice, the food fell short of expectations, making our experience just okay. Not a bad place to visit, but I wouldn't rush back.

The atmosphere is amazing! The staff is very friendly! The drink I got wasn’t great so I sent it back. The salad wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t amazing. The cookie was AMAZING!!! Adding the ice cream to it was the final chef’s kiss 😘. I’ll be back maybe I will try something else on the menu.

This place was recommended by a friend and it definitely exceeded our expectations. It is very beautiful, the food and drinks delicious followed by a really nice atmosphere. The portions are on the bigger size. Service was excellent. Will be coming back.

I felt like the brunch menu was a little lacking and overall it was very overpriced. I wasn't impressed with the quality of food for the price I paid and will probably not return. The place was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. They do serve alcohol as well but who's drinking that early in the day.

I had brunch this saturday and I have to say my experience was beyond words. The cocktails were awesome! To start we ordered a pistacho croissant and it was delicious!! 😍 I wasnt expecting that! It is a must! Then I had the steak and eggs and It was super tasty! Definitely the highlight of the brunch! Everyone was super friendly and helpful!! Such a great atmosphere 😊

Family and friends got together for Easter dinner. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted and sat at the bar first. We were served by Angelina, and she was great. I got the vesper martini, and it was tasty. We then moved over to the table, and Enea was our server, and he was good. For my meal, I got the chicken Parmesan with pasta and wanted the thicker pasta, but they did not substitute. I had to add a little salt, but it wasn't too bad. The portion was huge. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. We also finished the meal off with a dessert board, which was very good. We had a really good experience.

Went to The Loaded Spoon last night to celebrate my friends birthday and we had a fabulous time. Mostly because our server, Alessia was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of us!!! She had a great personality & offered superb Customer Service!!! The food was delicious too!! There were 4 of us out, and we each ordered something different - all happy with our choice in entrees (I had the Short Rib bolognese). The drinks were on point!! - the restaurant was decorated for the holidays, they had the pop-up Miracle specialty drinks available too!! And the DJ was killing it with the music! We really enjoyed ourselves & most of all, the birthday girl loved it most!!
