ZANA Ormiston

Gala place good food. Acceptable prices and certainly recommended.
We had a number of dishes.
Fish , pad Thai, sizzling beef and chicken. Tomyum
35$ per head approx.
although I have to say that food is mostly based on sauces though.

The bestest restaurant I have ever come across in NZ!! What an awesome customer service!! Cleanliness and the soo soo authentic food!!
The taste of food just takes away my heart!!

The item i ordered and what was sent through uber eats- does not match the description.
I opened up the packaging and A) it is a wrap which was not fresh. it is tough on one side and cracking. the whole item just bloody opened up.

When questioned the restaurant: i was told Uber eats on my Behalf agreed for substitute product which was the wrap as the spicy kebab was no longer available.

I do not know how my detail was not available to the restaurant through my uber eats account.

Pretty disappointed as not the first time Zana has done its own substitutions for customer order.

Not tried the Thai menu, tried a Lamb Biriyani and it was rice with just bones. Some small dangerous small bones too, Not One piece of meat (see photo of bones). Also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, my wife got a stupid thing looked like butter sauce. Naan bread 😂 never seen anything like it. Had to even ask them to stop the loud Muslim prayer playing. Not happy.

Nice food and place. Very generous serving and indeed very spicy for me. Quick service and welcoming staff. The only thing that puts us off was the dirty glasses but still worth coming back and recommend to anyone wanting to have a try of thai meals. Overall good restaurant in Ormiston. Had lunch here with work mates.

Despite Zana's limited staff, the food was great! The menu was not as visually appealing in terms of layout, colors, and so on, but the cuisine was well worth it. Food took some time to arrive, however my family and I walked out happy as our taste buds had been delighted.

I came out for Iftaar tonight with my husband and when we arrived, we were told to order at the kiosk at the front counter which was fine however the entire time the waitress was standing right behind us waiting for us to finish. was a super uncomfortable moment 😅

eventually our entree came out, it was absolutely delicious!! then when it came time for mains, i got my pad thai and then after waiting a long time for my husband food it finally came however the waitress accidentally gave our food to the wrong table. took a few minutes for her to realise, the chef ended up coming out to apologise and offered to remake it however my husband decided it was fine and allowed the waitress to bring the food from the other table back to us.

THEN after that, they forgot our drinks. the waitress came to us twice to reconfirm what we had ordered, after 10 minutes we finally got our drinks and they were so good!!

Overall, the food is awesome however staff training is recommended ❤️
