Pizza Express

Our waitress Grace was super lovely and helped us decide what to order. Our doughballs were especially delicious (we got a range to try), would 100% recommend!!

Went into the pizza express in Eldon Square Shopping centre in Newcastle and what an incredible experience! Me and my colleague got a big take away order and Neil and Grace were friendly, welcoming, polite, professional and genuinely the nicest people I have met! I am gluten free and my colleague other allergies. They were really accommodating and explained fully what we could order! Thank you Neil and Grace

GRACE AND NEIL WERE WORLD CLASS!!!!! Honestly I haven’t had better service in Pizza Express EVER!!! Honestly so friendly welcoming and helpful. Generosity was unmatched! If you are ever up this way visit Eldon Square and come and say hey! You won’t regret it!!

Very quiet at lunchtime, hence limited atmosphere. Staff excellent, especially with communication once they were advised I was profoundly deaf. Polenta chips excellent (and quite a treat for us).
Calzone probably the best I have had, plenty of flavour, a bit on the hot side for my taste but I would order again. Lasagne okay taste-wise but lacking in texture. We will return.

Overall a good experience, well decorated with nice vibes. Accommodating and friendly staff.

Gluten free options overall were good with a wide selection, however pizza was a bit of a let down, due to a lack of flavour/cheese, as well as the pricing.

When ordering food I asked about whether the burn ends pizza was spicy as I can't tolerate anything spicy - the waitress checked with the chef and told me it wasn't at all spicy. On tasting the food I actually found it quite spicy and my lips went numb. Also, I wouldn't class it as "burnt ends", just beef. Fortunately this was only half of my pizza. Nobody asked if the food was OK which should be standard practice, especially if someone has made a query while ordering.

I finished my meal before my wife and someone tried to take my plate away even after I pointed out that my wife was still eating - this is really bad form for waiting.

The pizzas are a good size - not too big to feel stuffed but big enough to fill you. As usual, deserts are pricey for what they are, although we did enjoy them.

Tasty food and great service, however the calzone verdure wasn't cooked through - while the outside was cooked and crisp, the vegetables inside were still chilled (colder than room temp). I'm guessing the courgettes and aubergines came frozen and hadn't fully thawed out? It still tasted great, it's just a shame about the temperature.

I loved the rosemary chutney bread, it's a pity it was limited edition for the holidays.
