I recently visited Mondegar and had a delightful experience, despite some minor drawbacks. The cafe's atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming decor that sets the tone for a chilling visit.
The real highlight was the exceptional quality of the food and drinks. I ordered veg food which exceeded my expectations. The flavors were rich, presentation was impressive, and portion sizes were generous.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Orders were fulfilled promptly, and they ensured our needs were met throughout.
Unfortunately, the seating area felt congested, with tables placed quite close together. This made it difficult to move around comfortably and felt a bit claustrophobic at times.
Standout Features:
- Excellent food quality
- Impressive drink menu
- Cozy atmosphere
- Friendly service
Suggestions for Improvement:
- Rearrange seating to create more space
- Consider expanding seating area
Overall: Despite the seating constraints, Cafe Mondegar is a great spot for foodies and coffee lovers. I highly recommend visiting for the delicious offerings, but perhaps avoid peak hours for a more comfortable experience.
Rating Breakdown:
- Food Quality: 5/5
- Drink Quality: 5/5
- Service: 4/5
- Ambiance: 4/5
- Seating: 2/5
- Overall Experience: 4/5

Really good and old cafe in Colaba!
Tried their chilli chicken and Alfredo pasta, along with beer. Both the food items were good
The ambience is also quite lively but you’ll always find this place full
Bit on the expensive side, but would receive this place

Amazing place, visit this place in the evening for dinner with my family. Luckily we did not have to wait and got a table in just 2 min. There is a pay parking facility available outside one can pay a nominal charge and use the pay and park facility. The staff is good but the food was just amazing. They even serve alcohol as well. There is music playing all the time but they have a good collection of music so one will enjoy listening. Food preparation took around 20 to 25 min. And the quality was good. It was worth the price paid.

Cafe Mondegar in Colaba is an absolute gem with a lively vibe and vintage charm. Known for its iconic Mario Miranda murals that capture the essence of Mumbai, the cafe is as much an art experience as a dining spot. The menu offers a mix of classic Indian and continental dishes, all served promptly by friendly staff. The atmosphere is warm, with a mix of locals and tourists enjoying good food, cold beer, and timeless tunes from the jukebox. Perfect for relaxing after exploring Colaba, Cafe Mondegar is a must-visit for its ambiance, history, and welcoming vibe.

We loved the murals by Mario Miranda painted all over the place. It's always crowded so be ready to wait if you reach here at lunch time. The food was excellent along with the beer that we tried, great portions too.
The only downside is when you get the bill the waiters will remind you that they have not added any service charge and would prompt you to add a tip while waiting near your table.

A Mario Miranda enthused European pub with continental food and other Mughlai/Indian fare. Thankfully, they don't "we also serve Chinese". Good options are extensive and there's usually a decent 15 minutes wait here on good days. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait longer for a table. Just give your name to the host and they will call when a table is vacated which can accommodate your group size. Prices have been rising here and beer can be pretty expensive as compared to retail. Ambience and meal will not disappoint. When at capacity, seating isn't exactly comfy and you will be elbowing your neighbour and vice versa. They don't have valet service or parking. Use public transport or car pool.

Located within walking distance of the Gateway of India, this popular restaurant has a great ambience. It offers Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine. I tried the roast beef and the king prawns and they were pretty good! Caramel custard for dessert may sound prosaic, but it’s rarely done as well as here.
