If you’re in Atlanta airport, you must try Philips Seafood. The Mahi Mahi plate was great.

It’s about the most decent thing you’ll find to eat at this airport. Service is slow though, so if you’ve got an early flight, I’d suggest hitting up a different spot. The fish sandwich is the way to go, it’s better bang for your buck.

I found Phillips in the ATL Airport and decided to give it a try - I ordered the Fish and Chips, seemed the safest for the first try.
The coating on the fish was perfect, thin and fried very well. The fish was flaky and tasted very, very good! I also love good coleslaw and theirs did not disappoint.
Next time I’m flying through here, I’m going to try their salmon :-)
Excellent meal and Service.

Being a person from the North East I am very familiar with
Phillips. They had competition back in the day in DC from a
place called Hogates. Both sat on the waterfront in DC.
So now lets talk about this Atlanta Airport location:
On a July 4th holiday weekend the place was not crowded.
I am sure the prices is what make people turn away but
if you want good seafood than you expect to pay a price.
I was seated promptly but my server was very 'bare bones'
"Hey how are you...What can I get you?" ... I asked about
clams and she replied " Sir we only have what's on the menu"
Fair enough....But wait....here is the kicker :
A white party comes in maybe 7-10 persons and get
seated. (I hate to bring race into this but I feel it is apropos
right now) ** I was an alone B/M dining.
This same server greets the party and she is vibrant and
asked about their travels in ATL and she suggested menu
items to them and issued them straws for drinks..etc.
I was served my dish by another worker..I wasn't given
any silverware, no ketchup, no vinegar oil, no extra
napkins. So I noticed in this party a young boy asked for
steamed shrimp to eat. The server went to the back and
came back and said that YES they could order steamed
shrimp which is NOT on the menu mind you.
I love STEAMED SHRIMP. I actually ordered a side of
Fried shrimp to accompany my main dish as I love shrimp
To wrap up this review and not spill over to a rant I
consumed my meal and packed the rest to go.
I pondered should I chastise this waitress or let it go.
I pondered should I not tip as a sign of my differential
treatment that was blatant. I decided to let it go.
I still gave her an appropriate tip despite how I felt.
I respect service industry workers. Here is the thing:
I her mind the biggest tips come from a certain
segment of people.. and this is where she focused her
energy into making them feel welcome.
And this is also where so many servers like her FAIL!!
I am a self made millionaire although I dress simple
like an average "brother" you see everyday.
I am always looking to bless people financially
because I didn't have it easy NO WAY NO HOW!!!!!!
I have given street people $5, $12, $20 simply because
they asked me because I believe in generousity (sic).
TREAT EVERY CUSTOMER THE SAME...DONT LET
YOUR PAST MUFFLE YOUR VISION MOVING FORWARD.
IF YOU ARE A BY THE BOOK SERVER THAN TREAT ALL
CUSTOMERS THE SAME. IF YOU ARE A JOVIAL
SERVER THAN BE JOVIAL TO EVERYONE.
I guess I did rant.....sorry.....................
So the crab cakes were OK...I could tell they were
previously frozen....and the fried shrimp was nothing
to write anyone about. RED LOBSTER wins this one!!
Waffle fries was the best..and I dont care for them

I enjoyed my selection for dinner. Luscious was most knowledgeable and hospitable to me and my guests. He added value to our experience and food choices.

Phillips Seafood at the Atlanta airport didn't quite hit the mark for me. The grilled mahi-mahi sandwich didn't leave a lasting impression either., it was rather bland. The crab soup on the other hand was fantastic. I loved it and would go back to get another bowl. But I think the best part of the whole meal was the service, I host. This was remarkable, she was witty, and she sincerely seemed as if she wanted to make sure we had a great experience.

Service was top notch!
Food was quite good….only complaint was the fish in the fish and chips. It was very small potions…reminded me of the frozen battered fish I buy from time to time…see photo. I would not order it again.
The tacos were good as was the chicken sandwich.
They were out of the crab cakes unfortunately.
Other than that it was a good spot while awaiting our connecting flight. ✈️
