Only 3 exhibits 1 being a cultural experience of Egyptian immigrants, the other exhibit was 1 painting. Building is great but I feel as though they need more permanent exhibits. Huge Amoy courtyard just empty. No sculpture or art. Wish there was more to look at.

This is a small offshoot from the MoMA in Manhattan and I think this museum has more recent contemporary art than the main one. There was only one exhibition that really interested me, the rest were okay in my opinion. The two permanent installations on the top floor were definitely my favorite, and seeing the historic boiler room in the basement was cool too. I would still come back depending on if there were interesting exhibitions coming through. The old school building was also fun to navigate and felt cool in the sense that it was a non traditional museum setting. Overall I think this museum was worth checking out mainly because it’s free for NY residents, I would only pay the $10 admission fee if there was an exhibit I was interested in.

The museum is great no knocks there. The summer party dance party did leave a lot on the table however. Very little food options for such a large event. The music was decent until the final act got on and played 2016 club hits with little to no creativity or style in approach. That said it still managed to bring a crowd likely cause this party is free for LIC residents.
The small offshoot of large MOMA with small but extraordinary changing exhibitions. Not so crowded, because perhaps not yet so well known? I enjoyed it and it was worth the 10$ by far. One should be open for new things 👍👍👍👍👍

Free for NY residents!
A unique museum experience. The building reminded me of an asylum with its white brick walls, long cold hallways and white doors haha! During my visit, the exhibitions seemed to theme around cultural representation.

The bookstore has a wide range of artistic books for adults and children.

Bit run down, old mansion but little character left. Experimental installations, mostly comprising found objects when I went. 4 floors with elevator. Wheelchair accessible.

What a waste of such a large space! I like art and I’m very choosy about it. I have seen good Modern art, but what I witnessed here was mostly atrocity. Felt like wasted my hours to visit this place and walk around. 1 of the floors was closed for installation and 2 floors which were open didn’t have any impressive art. Uploading pictures of the only 2 installations I admired.
Good things- the staff is good and courteous. The lockers room service is also good. There is a souvenir shop if interested. And a café at the 1st floor.
