Tarmachan Cafe

Stopped in for a coffee and cake on the way back from Braemar. Even though they were close to closing they were happy for us to order and eat. Really nice cafe with great service, decent coffee and amazing cakes. Thoroughly recommended for a stop if you are in Royal Deeside.

A must visit place. Loved the sausages, salad and the pie too. The meat in the sausages was juicy and tasty.
Excellent service. Has a very nice outdoor seating too.
Will stop again on my next visit to Scotland.

Had a great time. The staff were so friendly and nice and the feta and pea soup was unreal! I wanted to bath in it! Quirky little cafe would love to return

Really liked this place. Great location and interior is really well designed, not your typical highland place…very modern.

I had a long black, from Williams and Johnson coffee roasters which are well known to me. Very well made coffee and also great cinnamon bun.

Food looked good, wished I’d ordered something savoury after seeing it!

Wonderful Cafe Near Balmoral castle. Especially for getting refreshing coffee before you back to the road! Version sausage roll is awesome and delicious. Highly recommended.

We visited the cafe on Saturday afternoon. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Given it was such a hot day, I asked if they were able to make iced coffees (as I hadn't seen them on the menu) and they were more than happy to make them. We both had cinnamon rolls which were AMAZING!!!, so light and fluffy. It was really nice to see a range of vegan available. Finally my partner ordered one of the highly recommended venison sausages to take home with him and said he would definitely go back for another one of those.

We will definitely be back.

Hungry and a bit hungover we found this place purely by chance on the road back through the Cairngorms headed south.

We could not have been more lucky. One of the best toasties (local cheese/kimchi/venison salami) I've ever had and a very very high quality coffee to go with. Good value, friendly staff, great baked goods & well thought out interior.

I just wish we were local because I'd be back weekly.

Excellent little cafe with healthy home-made options and lovely choices for children and excellent coffee too. We had delicious leek and potato soup with apple and nutmeg, a lovely healthy salad with beetroot, kale, and tahini dressing, and very tasty cheese toasty with salami. The children loved their peanut butter on toast and their outstanding cinnamon buns: soft and so fresh.
