A fantastic pub. Roaring fire when you walk in the door. Lovely welcoming landlord. Carvery with four meats - beef, turkey, pork and the most delicious gammon we’ve ever had. Kids under 5 eat free which is a nice touch. Honestly the best carvery we’ve had down here. Worth the journey. A place not to be missed.

I have been away for some time since they closed the doors some months ago.
We decided to have a Sunday Roast on the Ist of December which was great. Apparently Steaks are back!!
Very attentive staff from entrance, payment showing to your seats, choosing your Meat of choice and all trimmings and desserts.
Heidi made us feel very welcome again after all these years.
See you all on the 23rd of December 2024.

What a cracking pub!
Sea views, log fire, cozy nooks, killer carvery with the most delicious and wide selection of sides and a wonderful welcome from all the staff.
We went here on a whim with our three young kids hoping that we could convince them to enjoy the carvery after the excitement of getting the water ferry over. Amazing value with under 5s eating free, and did they eat!
Dan on the carvery was so great with the kids and encouraged them back for seconds. We were so impressed by how child friendly it was, we will be heading back there as soon to try out the other menus.
The quality of the food was great. Hot, fresh, crispy potatoes, broccoli green and not overdone, homemade Yorkies, the most tender roast beef, crispy crackling and the cauliflower cheese was top notch.
A great all-rounder pub, doing exactly what a good pub should do - serving a warm welcome with good honest home cooked grub. Long may your success continue Edgecumbe Arms!

Went to the Edgecombe Arms today to support our local businesses before the budget. It was mid week roast day so we had three fantastic roasts. The choice was beef or turkey, the beef being the softest medium rare joint I've eaten. Plenty of veg and a lovely selection of sweets. As I'm a pensioner I had a substantial discount too. Dog friendly and a great selection of beers. Unfortunately the photo was taken after I had started our meals but we will be back for the fish and chip Friday to report back. Well done to all.

Popped in for a bite to eat after a long walk not realising it was the launch of their midweek carvery. Not something we would usually go for but was very pleasantly surprised. Great, very friendly service and good food at very reasonable price! Took a leaflet with their other offers/specials will certainly be back.

We stayed at the Edgcumbe Arms the night before and on our wedding night (we got married at Mount Edgcumbe at the beginning of June), all the staff were wonderful but Dan went above and beyond for our stay, nothing was too much trouble and he couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable and still have enough character, the views are lovely too. Breakfast both mornings was perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough and I couldn’t fault it. We look forward to coming back for a roast soon and to stay again in the future.

Went for a family evening meal, staff were lovely and helpful, advised us that the food was going to take a long time.
My meal was scampi and chips, no peas they were an extra £1. I paid £13.95 for a meal that was prepared by the chef getting everything from the freezer then put in a fryer and served up, presentation was poor, oh chef cut a lemon. The price was extortionate for what I was served. So disappointed.
