Not a fan of the discreet security duo tracking people they profile as thieves

Since they installed the self checkout, all normal kassa are closed and for some customers they have to go and scan the items again as a safety check.

3 employees looking at the queue not helping or opening any other. Long waiting time if you need to pay cash, doesnt matter morning or evening, if you have 1 or 2 persons in front, be ready for good 5-10 minutes.

Easily the most ghetto AH I've been to on my Netherlands trip. Can't return cans, broken machines, unfriendly staff and many things are simply not there. Gotta love the style though. Keep it up guys!

The produce is always immaculate. The prices are usually lower than I think they are going to be! The checkout support staff member was very helpful.
Dec 2021 Back in the Netherlands and first stop is Albert Heijn! Full of lovely stuff. All the fresh food is really fresh. Great selections of just about everything. The only continuing irritation is that they only accept payment in cash or with a Maestro card. I can cope.

The assortment is underwhelming, no good bread, ready made meals are mediocre at the best. The system with the loyalty card is just bad. Also, when we are finally going to abandon coins for shopping carts? I don't have any coins anymore..

Variety of choice in vegetarian food. One can scan own items, (designed to safe time to check out) but when I asked for assistance the employee was not too happy to help, also when scanning a beer one need to be verified you are older than 18 years old
