Castle Marchegg

Wonderful castle with an amazingly large garden where you can see the huge tree called "THE BIG ONE", one of the largest of its kind in Austria. At least 10 men are needed to surround the giant trunk.

There is a large car park next to it.

Beautifull place, full of history and surounding nature. U can even get presents and bio products in the shop

Beautiful romantic place with great architecture. And big area inside. Good idea for a bike trip and relax here. Nearby is a nature reserve.

Nice castle with a lot of starches around and on the roofs. There are often various celebrations with beer tents and food. There is filed with wild horses nearby where you can walk which is pretty nice.

Very nice place. the castle was completely renovated.

The Castle lacks an announced description about its history and present status.It is not clear if any of the rooms not open to the public still have furniture inside.The castle hosts at present an extensive exhibition about the area its nature and wildlife but little about the castle itself,its previous owners etc.Hence it it has no soul.Its location on the Moravia river provides for interesting walks including seeing the storks if it is the right time of the year.On the whole a beautifull interesting outing

The castle is currently closed off and under renovation in anticipation of an exhibition later this year (maybe). Would love to come back and check it out then.

The imposing White Storks have completey taken over the castle chimneys with their incredible twig nests 🙂🙂
