Grand Hotel Downtown

My friend stay in the hotel, room is very small but the location is great.

We booked this hotel via opodo so didn't even know that this was the red light district. Anyways when we arrived the check in was slow and the room wasn't even ready. One thing I don't like is that guests who arrived after us were given a room quicker than us. Yes this hotel is in the red light district area but mostly it's the drug addict and rough sleepers on the road that we saw. Once you walk past them , literally the next street then you will start seeing normal tourists. I would say if you are traveling alone then definitely do not book this hotel.

OMG , just run Away !!!

The neighbourhood is really bad , full of drug attics, homeless people and drunk groups making a lot of noise all night long .

Police sirens everywhere.

The worst hotel I’ve been in my intire life , and I’ve been around the world .

The room has no ac !

In the morning I went to get my breakfast, the one that I paid for when I booked the room , and they couldn’t find my booking to see if I have payed for my breakfast, I waited 10 minutes , and then I left furious telling the this is utterly unacceptable, and extremely rude.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel , even if it was free .

For the price this place was great, clean, comfy bed and friendly easy check in. Be aware that it is in the loud part of town, with lots of street activity, many junkies, dealers and weird dudes walkin about. Stay aware and you'll be fine.

Beware! This area is not safe at all
Note it is also the red light districts so as a female I did not feel safe walking alone at night or during the day. There were a lot of drug addicts around.

Rooms are nice,have cool colourful lights behind the bed and the bathroom is a decent size.

Receptionist on arrival was wandering around, I had no idea whether he worked there or not. Said hello to him thinking he were a guest as he stepped outside and upon re-entering I was if he worked there to which he said he asked if I needed help (he didn’t, otherwise I wouldn’t have been standing there for over 5 minutes with my luggage, waiting for someone to turn up)
There was another person in front of me who said they have been waiting for 15 minutes while the receptionist was strolling around casually.
The area is sketchy - a lot of men idling around street corners catcalling - as a single woman, I did not feel comfortable on my supermarket walk. Getting loud at night, so closing the windows is the only option if you want to rest. I would have preferred to keep my window open as weather was really hot, but the AC did.
Oh, and brace yourself as the lift takes forever.

This was my second time staying in this hotel. I was aware of the surroundings with it being in the red light district. The hotel is actually a pretty nice hotel with a modern flair. The problem was actually management. Not accommodating at all. Asked for extra pillows and took 2 days. Kept telling me he forgot. Fridge in the room stopped working. Told them all my food spoiled and took another 2 days for them to bring us another one. Owner would act like he didn't see us and not greed every time we walked by the lobby. Some of the other guys working the reception where nicer.
