We are based in MCR city centre and regularly make the 30+ min pilgrimage to Heaton Chapel to procure some of the most thoughtfully prepared meat in the region.
A wonderful selection of meat to suit all tastes and budgets, from rare breed beef raised in the Peaks to venison shot on the Lyme Park estate to every delicious cut of in between. Some excellent charcuterie prepared in house as well…and can we just take a moment for their delicious meat pies and sausage rolls, please..!!
None of the city centre butchers even come close to Littlewoods, and that’s why you will often see their little van unloading goods for the best restaurants in town.

No doubt the quality of meat is good but prices seem to have gone up drastically in recent years. And is extortionate compared to other local butchers in didsbury. Charging £40+/kg rump where its £21/kg of rump in didsbury butchers. I brought the same piece of meat here just over a year ago and was £35. Few months later was £40. Next was £46 I stopped coming hear because i felt like it was getting ripped off every time but thought I'd give it another go as your my closest butcher's. Today confirmed my thoughs, tried to charge £57. Ridiculous cost per kg for rump. Was £24 today for a rump cap in didsbury compared to £57. I'll just drive a few minutes instead to save 33 quid. Prices are ridiculous and not competitive. Online butchers (farmeson) charge for the same joint £31 for Aberdeen Angus. Tom Hixon smithfield market are £30/kg rump. Aubrey Allen £30/kg both renowned butchers why are you charing over 40/kg?

The best butcher - not just in Stockport but across Greater Manchester. Great team who know exactly what they're doing, and good quality meat from the best sources. Their pies and sausage rolls are a delicious treat as well - always worth sneaking one in for the walk home.

Been using this butchers for a while now and their quality never diminishes. Outstanding quality every time!

The price list on their website does not contain any price but just before Christmas many people were in a long line so I decided to check the place out. Unfortunately I got robbed. I was charged a whopping £39 per kg for a rump steak & £37 per kilo for sirloin. For that kind of price I hoped rump to be tender but it wasn’t so I’m not sure what’s the justification for that sort of price. If the price is almost twice than you’d get from other butchers then you’d expect something surprising. My sirloin was packed thickly in plastic & it seemed that not much fat was at the side of the meat. When I unpacked the meat at home, it turned out thar my 600g sirloin contained 300g of side fat which rendered my price of a steak to about +£70 per kilo. The sirloin was nice & tender I must say but unfortunately not miraculously good to justify £70+ per kilo price. When reading other reviews then it seems that people recommend this place because their cuts are great & meat has excellent taste properties. Well, my experience was exact opposite. No butcher has sold me a sirloin steak containing 50% fat on sides nor was their rump steak anything special. I tried to find some info on their website whether they buy in meat from rare & special breeds that are perhaps100% grass feed from the moment they were born but they only mention briefly that they buy in Hereford & Angus and that’s it. I like support local businesses but this time I got a feeling that I was charged double for no particular reason. Will never visit again.
