Have Yorkshire meats changed premises.
This afternoon the sun was shining, and so I decided, as one does, to have a bit of a picnic. Nothing fancy, just the essentials. Imagine my horror when I discovered I was fresh out of quail's eggs, and sun dried tomatoes. Thankfully, Waitrose had me covered with their essentials range, for just the core staples we can't do without. My picnic was fabulous. Thank you, Waitrose
Nice supermarket! What surprises me comparing with Brussels where I live ; the enormous amount of ready cooked food. Doesn’t English people like to cook?
I carried out my shopping on Saturday AM. I am 77 years old and suffered a fall in the car park. I was swiftly and sympathetically atteneded to by three members of staff who looked after me until my son arrived . This review is to express my HEARTFELT THANKS for taking care of me and to make sure the staff get credit for their actions
Have shopped at Malvern branch for years. The building needs a good clean up outside, it's looking tired and grubby.
I, like many are put off by the self service checkouts appearing. It's all very well becoming more efficient and automated but where is the personal touch other than when the self service red light comes on? I'm not sure it's a change for the better. 3 stars this time, sorry.

Incorrectly named pie. The steak and kidney should be called steak gristle and kidney, as the lump of gristle was bigger than the kidney.

Great quality meat and always served with a smile.
The new self service checkouts are terrible. The bagging scales are too small for more than one bag. I like to put meat in a separate bag. There is no weighing scale any more. You have to leave the terminal to use a separate scale. Not happy at all, why change something that worked okay?
Went there about 6 years ago, just bought a pack of jelly babies. The cashier was really nice, realizing that I was struggling with the currency a bit. She just said "Honey let me help you if that's alright." and that is one of core memories of staying in Saffron Walden. I hope my queen is doing well and got a generous raise for being an amazing worker.
Such a shame the Worcester Park branch has changed the tills to mainly self service.

The shelf is too small if buying more than 5/6 items. I assume they don’t want customers to buy many items.
No one was serving on the 2 normal tills that are left.

This store has great quality products, they might not be as cheap as other supermarkets, but I find that the goods are fairly priced considering the quality of what's being sold.
Nice grocery store. Good collection of Turkish halal food and also butchers shop.

Awful experience at new self service tills this morning, only one manned till open with a long queue. Numerous problems with new till, would scan item and place in bag area but machine would freeze and tell me to place in bag, which I had just done. Please open more manned checkouts, self service not practical when you spend £80+
Ordered a click and collect on Sunday expecting them on Tuesday. Got a message on Monday morning to say it’s ready. Very pleased with such efficient service and friendly staff as always.
Thank you to friendly helpful staff at Waitrose for keeping my shopping bag when i accidentally left it behind. I got through on the phone and spoke to a helpful member of staff straight away (rather than an answer machine) despite it being 7.30 in the evening.

First very disappointed with fresh bread section .
Size of sourdough bread quality go down hill and size shrink .
But price go up .
Lunch section not many choices .
Poultry very poor choices too .
Their organic chicken look like smal pigeon and price £20 each
And lots of different minus in shop which I noticed for last 3 years of changing.

Extremely poor service from Waitrose. Delivery was missing 50% of the items ordered and they wanted to blame deliveroo for their own inability to actually supply the goods stated as in stock online.
Love shopping here. Great selection+ staff but soooo expensive
Love Waitrose produce usually. I have always looked forward to jersey royal potato season. This year sorry to say they are horrible. No way taste like a genuine jersey royal. Have tried loose and bagged ones....both ended up in compost.

Went in a full hour before closing. The cheese counter looked open and there was a staff member there, but she said they were closed so I couldn't have a piece of already-cut-and-wrapped cheese.
The front of the store was full of the plant shelves from outside, so I couldn't leave the store easily as other people checking out were blocking the strip of remaining space with their trollies. Not their fault of course - entirely on Waitrose for putting all those shelves in the walkway an hour before closing.
Also, the flooring needs replacing, the ladies' loo is pathetic, and the car park is very badly designed.
The food is generally good though, and all the cashiers are delightful.
Just make the shopping experience more pleasant, please!

Used the cafe today. They were sending out completely uncooked chips. People were sending them back. I sent mine back and was told that "chef" had been made aware of the problem but, the cooker was automatic.
Why send out things that are clearly no good? What kind of Chef would permit this? Would they send out raw chicken?

Popped in for a little something to welcome a new baby and found a pair of summer rompers and a tee shirt. Good quality, fair price.
Very good service today from the fish counter. Unfortunately, I didn't have a Waitrose card, so I didn't get the discount.
Good choice. Big store. Good staff. Loads of parking, cashpoint. Fresh veg, fish, deli and fresh meats etc. Good selection overall. Huge sushi bar and selection also.
Ordering from them via deliveroo used to he good, bit really awful now. Orders take over an an hour to deliver in a less than a mile Journey.

A nicely laid out larger store, with a wide range of food and household goods. Aisles are well spaced out, staff always helpful and of course Waitrose own food is always excellent.

This review is regarding the cafe only. It has recently been totally refurbished . It is immaculate and the toilets are spotless. The coffee, snacks and food are all high quality and well cooked. However I do find the service quite slow often accumulating queues. Look out for their special offers.
Good but needs some improvements; The quality of food is overall very good and most prices are reasonable, although they have soared recently. The cheese counter is great and I am a regular customer there but very rarely I get served straightaway. There often seem to be lack of staff at the counters and couple of times I had to wait for more that 10min for someone to appear and serve me - that despite other staff wondering around. Customer service is very good and things get sorted straightaway, including order collections. Self service checkout machines often show errors and it is not always obvious to the personnel that customers need assistance.

Today I managed to get everything on my shopping list -even the Cucumber (its currently out of stock or restricted purchase in other local supermarkets).
The majority of shelves were well stocked, although some fruit and veg were out of stock.
There was a brief wait at the till point. The assistant processed my items efficiently. There was the option of having a till receipt (love that Waitrose are considering the environment in all the small ways).
The site was clean and I could easily navigate to items I needed.
I was able to park in my desired area of the car park and could pay the parking machine using real cash, which was very useful as I'm counting the pennies right now.
Didn't see any parents until leaving the store- luckily I had just missed the school rush.

Absolutely incredible butchers the sausage rolls are spot on I also bought a turkey when I ate it. It was perfect!! Amazing staff all lovely. Correctly priced I would 100% recommend best butchers !!
I had a terrible experience here a year ago when I was doing my Christmas shopping a year ago. I was shopping with my grandmother, when I stepped away to look at whiskeys and gins to purchase for gifts for family and friends when I was approached by security and began to be questioned about why I was there and accused of stealing following which I was told that I will be escorted to the checkout with what I was holding or I will be asked to leave. The experience had left me quite upset and frankly not at all what I would have expected. I would like to say a thank you to the other 90% of staff who work here and are absolutely lovely.
It's not what it was. Recently I have been very disappointed with the quality of the fresh vegetables and given the high prices I am now buying them elsewhere. Shelves are all too often empty or low on stock. Also, too few checkouts are open, resulting in queues. The Malvern, Evesham, and Hereford stores are so much better.
Normally use Hazeldines for special occasions. I went in and bought two large pork pies the day before Xmas eve. They were the worst pork pies ever, dry no gelatine and the pastry just fell off the pie as soon as I cut them. I also asked the female butcher if I could have some lamb mince and she said they didn’t have any, I asked her if she could make me some and she abruptly said “No sorry” strange am I in a butcher’s shop?? I rang Cauldwells on Davenport who were more than happy to make me some. I know where I’ll be going in the future.
The only big supermarket in my town, great selection of products no questions but with the waitrose price tags.

Visited here on strength of previous recommendation for pork pies. Dead at 10.30 on a Saturday morning. Unfriendly female butcher. No fresh pork pies out... on a Saturday! Still bought 1 small and 1 medium pork pie. £8..! Think I was ripped off. Pork pies awful, pastry like cardboard. Fortunately there was no ribs of beef, or i may have bought some. A business on it's uppers.
What a lovely shopping experience yesterday, thanks to Sharon. She was friendly and attentive and so kind to my Mum on her 80th birthday, made her day! So refreshing to be in a store with great staff that make an effort. Well done!

This is the best butcher's shop around. The meat is truly superb. The chicken is excellent- proper meat that doesn't shrink and leak water, but is solid and filling, and really tastes how chicken should taste.
The beef and the lamb have great flavour, too. Succulent and flavoursome and you savour every bite while eating it. Friendly service as well. If you haven't tried their meat, you are missing out!

Really amazing quality meats at great prices. What I really like whenever I visit is the quality of service which I think is important, such amazing service and friendly staff. Dale farm foods ticks all the boxes for me, great service, quality products and competitive prices. I've been using them for the past few years now, particularly for their delicious smoked bacon, sausages and sweet treats but they have a variety of products. Highly recommended. Big thanks to all the staff, always a pleasure to buy from.

Ordered a few times now and each time the meat has been quality I ordered for collection and Aaron had rang me to ask if I wanted delivery and as I'd spent over the limit which I accepted, the fact Aaron had called made my day these people actually care. And take great pride in giving the best quality meat. Keep up the great work will be defo ordering every time :)
Ordered for delivery few different types of meat. Delivered over 24 H later apparently by courier mistake. All dry ice was melted. My husband froze most but whatever left for me to cook in fridge smelt really bad, but was OK after cooking ( at least wasn't sick after).
May still try in the future but definitely not for delivery. Plus for very nice staff and their professional kind manner over phone.

Generally OK, with good customer service, but prices are now expensive. Also, on one occasion, I bought some milk from the store which made me quite ill. After I reported this, I received a letter from Waitrose's head office falsely claiming that it was unlikely that it was the milk that had caused me to become ill, without providing any reason for its claim or any evidence. However, I was ill on two occasions after consuming the milk, and I was fine on the day between those two occasions when I did not consume the milk, as I had stated when reporting the problem. Waitrose should take food safety much more seriously, instead of just trying to brush off and ignore any problems.
I had shopped once and had awful experience. I bought 2 whole chickens and while I was paying the staff charge more money from mentioned price. One friend was with me so I didn't bother arguing.
Moreover when COVID-19 crisis emerged, the staff increased the prices instantaneously. I didn't bother going there after that. There is Makkah Grocery on the same road toward town centre, that is relatively cheaper and staff is quite friendly there.

After cooking it we found it was a pork joint.This has now happened on two occasions so we rung up and spoke to the assistant who served us called Arron.He tried to blame us by saying that we pointed out the joint that we wanted.We told him that was totally untrue as we do not know the difference between a pork or ham joint in its raw state.
Arron then promised he would bring us a ham joint at the end of the week.
He never turned up.So we rang him up and again he made the same promise i will bring you one up.Again he never turned up.As he has not bothered to get in touch my only recourse is to leave a review.We are both pensioners and deserve better.Does no one have any word anymore.

Ordered meat for Easter Sunday lunch from these people, found them after searching online. Aside from a little hiccup with delivery (which they sorted out very quickly and kept us constantly updated on progress) their service is impeccable and the meat was absolutely incredible. Value for for money is fantastic. Will definitely be using them again.
Ordered a meat pack with 30 chicken eggs. The meat came different vacuum packages and meat looks nice and good, just one important thing missing - meat produce or valid or end date. And from 30 eggs - 19 eggs came unbroken. Let them know about it, but nothing from them.

I fully understand that with the current situation it is difficult to engage socially with your customers but to barely be greeted is an insult.
I asked for 2 fresh thick cut ribeye steaks and honestly I am currently cooking them for my dogs, it looks like frying steak.
We will not be back.

After a mix up with the delivery people our meat delivery came today. Just opened it and it looks fantastic. Well worth the money, well worth the wait. Thank you for sorting it and delivering on Sunday. Chinest Chicken stir fry for tea tomorrow. Thanks again.

Top quality Butchers that provide a genuine farm to plate service. Friendly staff that are happy to help. Lots of choice with quality beef, pork and lamb at realistic prices. The best sausages in Belfast, bar none.
Its a lovely grocery shop, fresh meats, cut the way you want it, chicken, ribs, everything. Some spices which you cannot find in any tesco, sausages are amazing for BBQ. Wonderful staff and service

Great products and friendly service
I want there today and bought wild boar from the freezer and pork and apple sausages. I was impressed with how the burger inquired about what I'd cook with the boar and was excited about it. It's great to meet a butcher who is enthusiastic about the meals as well as the raw meat. I don't live locally but I know I'll be back when nearby.
This is my regular butchers. They do great quality meats from their own farm. Sausages are delicious, especially honey and mustard chipolatas at Christmas.

We have been regular customers at Waitrose, in Great Malvern, for many years. The outside of the building is very scruffy now and needs a lot more maintenance. The staff are great and always helpful. We will be avoiding the self service checkouts.
