Diogenes, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly! At one point another guide came over to let him know that they had spotted a sloth, so we were able to see the sloth AND her baby! We learned a lot about the flora, fauna, and even a bit about the local history. Diogenes is also an excellent photographer, and got us some great photos to remember the trip by.

We went on a night tour with our guide Esteban and it was great!! It had started raining really bad right before but the place had rain coats to buy and the guide was still optimistic about the trip. Even with the down pour we saw plenty of animals, a keel billed toucan, a Sabre wing hummingbird, a sloth, so many more birds, frogs, and even cool bugs- all in the rain! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the local species even knowing the scientific names and characteristics. It was a really awesome experience even though the rain could’ve ruined it. Esteban was super friendly and great. I would highly recommend. Maybe bring your own flashlight and if raining wear boots and proper gear. So awesome!

Our visit on 9 Dec was more of just a walk in the dark and not the night tour of nocturnal animals I was hoping for. Our guide was polite and seemed effecting at spotting what animals were present. The tour provided one guide for each pair of guests. Entrance to the trail was quite muddy and slippery, but the remainder of the trails had gravel where needed to allow safe walking. We saw part of a snake balled up on a limb in a very tall tree, a frog in a pool that looked very common within the Southeastern USA, a line of leaf cutter ants working around the clock, and several pairs of birds sleeping in trees. We saw one other snake that was extended in a bush with head low toward the ground as waiting for its prey. Maybe it was just the weather that night, but no sloths or other night animals on the move. Based on what our experience turned out to be, I wish I had passed on the Monteverde Night Tour and just stuck to visiting cloud forests during the day.

Super fun night tour. We were able to see porcupines moving around trees, frogs, sleeping toucans, vipers, and tarantulas. And walking around the rainforest and night has a certain ambiance that was great. Dio was a great tour guide and taught us interesting things about the animals and plants.

Jason was a great tour guide! There were many other groups on the night we went but he guided us on a way that felt like we had the jungle to ourselves. We saw some interesting wildlife and would recommend to friends.

Excellent experience with a group of 6. Our guide Dio was extremely knowledgeable, fun, and tried to make sure we all got to see the animals we were looking forward to! Felt very safe and would recommend this to anyone interested in a night walk

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although it was busy, we split up into a group of 6 which I think was small enough. We got to see a bat, snakes, and some birds. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because I wish we had seen more wildlife but I understand it’s not their fault as every night is different and you can’t control nature. Apparently the night before, our guide even saw a wild cat! Perhaps you will need to do it more than once to see more wildlife, but overall I do very much recommend this place and would have done it again to test our luck if we had had more time!
