Wow, this place is crazy awesome! The fresh fish selection is fantastic. I grew up in Hawaii and they even have a respectable Hawaiian section. Redondo’s Portuguese sausage in the frozen section along with a few other brands. I wanted poi which I had seen in another review but couldn’t find it - the store might’ve been too big for me to search everywhere!
This is the largest Tokyo Central supermarket I have ever seen. There are 2 separate areas where it sells things like clothing, cosmetics, car accessories, toys, sports, home deco, etc. While the other area closer to the food court is where the actual supermarket where you can get fresh produce, bentos, sashimi, instant noodles, green tea, snacks and etc. As you walk into the main entrance there are some gachapon machines to the right. There is a food court with some seats indoors and a courtyard with more seating available but there's no AC. There is a takoyaki+yakisoba, fried chicken Karaage, pork cutlets and a Japanese bakery. Parking is pretty easy just drive around the building There is plenty of parking in the rear or the other side of the building.
We have been going there for years already, food is excellent, lots of snacks and all products you may need. It's always a nice treat for the kids.
Wow! This place is huge! A fantastic selection of Japanese groceries, kitchen items, even anime figures and t-shirts! The sushi is super fresh and there is even a place up front selling tacoyaki and seats to take a break and enjoy them. Parking can be tough, not because it's a small lot, but because the place is so popular. Park in the back, it's totally worth the walk to the front door!
Visiting LA and found this great Japanese supermarket and it has lots a great stuff and love it. Will visit every time when I come to LA. Plus all the warm food items are 20% off after 7pm daily.
You need any product for sushi making this is your place say no more. Huge market super clean easy to find products. Also restaurants on site if hungry. I love it! Forgot to mention delicious fresh sushi -do not get sushi at Costco or any other super market instead stop at Tokyo Central for the best 🇯🇵 eats. Yum! You will not be disappointed. Fyi: on weekends get your sushi early as everything freshly made is gone by literally 7:30pm including Friday's and Mo-Thurs you may just get lucky by that time to find scallop, eel rolls, Dragon rolls, tuna/salmon/seaweed salad poke bowl like the one on the pic below- oh and the rice is the best prepared tasty rice at another level of flavor. The chef is pure perfection.
I've been going to the original Mitsuwa market for over 20 years. Was a little sad to see it go since it's been a landmark for us in this area. The new Tokyo Central stays true to its roots and does a great job keeping tradition. It is still very clean and offers a great variety of authentic fresh foods from the food court to the ready made items as well as an impressive amount of original grocery goods from Japan and Hawaii. I would definitely come back and highly recommend whether it is your first time or if your looking for some Mitsuwa nostalgia.
