Theo Thijssen was born in 1879 and was writer and a teacher. He formulated a new way of learning and a new school in the early 20th century.
He believed That the language Esperanto would become the new ligua franca of the 20th century, overtaking English as the main speaking language. But in the meantime, he created the word 'zwembadpas' which translates into 'swimingpool card'
Eventually he died during World War 2 from illnesses.
